Vaunt Watermelon and Seaweed Face Mist | Review

Face mists seem like a simple skincare product, it’s just water in a bottle right? Actually, no, not only can a good face mist hydrate the face, it can also shrink your pores and improve the overall health of your skin. Vaunt Watermelon and Seaweed Face Mist | Review

The Vaunt Watermelon and Seaweed Face Mist contains the freshness of watermelon, the anti-oxidant properties of seaweed and the healing properties of grape seed and witch hazel. It has a refreshing citrusy scent and provides an instant boost of hydration to the skin and wakes it up in the morning or at the end of a tiring day. It can be used for freshening up the skin as a face mist and can also be used as a toner to shrink the pores or as a makeup setting spray.

Vaunt Watermelon and Seaweed Face Mist | Review

This product is extremely nourishing and gentle and will suit even those with sensitive skin. Another great thing about this product is its fantastic spray nozzle which provides a fine and even mist of product to the face. It makes using this face mist an absolute pleasure and my skin loves this as much as I do.

Overall, this product is helping my skin a lot in soldiering through the cold and dry weather by providing some much-needed moisture and glow to my face and its unclogging properties have helped in controlling my breakouts too. Magic Dust Vitamin E Face Serum | Review

A good serum can truly salvage your skin and resolve the most stubborn skin issues. This is because serums contain high concentrations of potent skincare ingredients and truly penetrate into the skin with their liquidy consistency. I have recently discovered a serum that I absolutely adore for my oily to combination acne-prone skin. This product is the Magic Dust Vitamin E Face Serum. Read on to find out why this skincare gem has stolen my heart!

Magic Dust Vitamin E Face Serum | Review

What pulled me towards the Magic Dust Vitamin E Face Serum was the fascinating list of ingredients. This serum contains rosehip extracts, an ingredient that always helps with brightening my skin and reducing pigmentation, vitamin-e, a well-known anti-oxidant, and green tea extracts, that help with soothing acne-prone skin. The formula truly contains all the ingredients that my skin needs to look its best. What I also love about this product is the fact that the formula is extremely light-weight, it literally looks and feels like water on the skin and sinks into the skin within seconds, leaving it hydrated but not at all greasy. I feel that those with oily skin can use this product on its own to provide some shine-free nourishment to their face and those with dry skin can add a layer of moisturiser on top of this product to get extra hydration.

Magic Dust Vitamin E Face Serum | Review

My skin is absolutely loving this serum and it literally feels baby smooth and soft every time I apply this product. The only complaint I have is that the formula smells a little funky, but the scent disappears within a few minutes of application so I do not mind this so much. Also, the packaging is super sturdy and travel-friendly. One issue that I sometimes face is that the pump is a little hard to press, causing the product to squirt out, but if you are a little careful you will be fine.

Magic Dust Vitamin E Face Serum | Review

Overall, I am absolutely in love with the formula of this product and couldn’t recommend it enough to people of all skin types. The price of INR 1500 for 50ml of product may seem a little steep, but serums are usually expensive because they have a high concentration of potent ingredients. Also, you will need the tiniest bit of product every day so one bottle will last you a really long time, making the product totally worth it. Just take my word for it and splurge a little on this gem, I am sure you will not regret it 🙂

Fabeya Bamboo Charcoal Sea Algae Peel Off Mask | Review

If you have ever used a black peel off mask, you would know that they all have a strong chemical scent and they often tend to dry up in the tube, leading to wastage of your money. Fabeya has now got you covered on both fronts with their Bamboo Charcoal Sea Algae Peel Off Mask that comes in the form of a powder! Read on to find out more about this unique product.

IMG_8485.JPG

The most unique thing about this product is of course the fact that it is a peel off mask in the form of a powder. You simply have to mix this light grey, finely milled powder with some regular water or rose water to form a thick paste. A 3-4 mm layer of this paste needs to be applied on the skin and peeled off after it has become completely dry, after 20 minutes or so. You may need to experiment a little with the thickness of the layer that you apply on your skin because if it is too thin it will crack and if it is too thick it will take a long time to dry. However, once you have the thickness right, the product will peel off pretty easily and will remove white heads and dead skin quite effectively.

IMG_8490.JPG

Another great thing about this product is that it is PVA free and does not dry out the skin or leave it feeling red and sensitive. While most black peel off masks in the market leave the skin fairly dehydrated and sensitive, this one actually hydrates the skin while removing only dead cells and white heads. There is a lot of controversy surrounding cream based peel off masks, with many people claiming that they actually contain glue in them. Not only can you trust Fabeya for their all-natural formulations (this one contains detoxifying bamboo charcoal and hydrating sea algae), even while using the product you will feel that it is made from pure and natural, non-toxic ingredients.

IMG_8494.JPG

Priced at INR 399 for a 30gm pack, this affordable product will give you several uses. If you have used a black peel off mask in the past and have found it extremely harsh or stripping then this product might convert you into a peel-off mask lover. Do try it out once, I am sure you will love it!

Upon application, I feel a warm sensation on my skin, but it goes away within a few minutes and is nothing painful at all.

Biotique Bio Fruit Face Pack | Review

I leave it on for approximately 15 minutes, and within that time, it dries down almost completely but does not tug at the skin or become too uncomfortable to keep on. Once I wash it off, my skin looks way brighter than before, and feels non-greasy but not dry or stretchy. The face pack is able to retain the moisture of the skin while removing all the gunk and grease and it also evens the skin tone and removes dullness at the same time.

Biotique Bio Fruit Face Pack | Review

Needless to say, this multi-tasking face pack has managed to impress me, I haven’t used any other formula that manages to clear out the pores so well without leaving the skin feeling parched. Also, the price point of INR 199 for a 75gm jar is completely affordable and the goodness of Ayurveda in the form of a cocktail of fruit vitamins is definitely worth the investment. Vya Naturals Turmeric Brightening Scrub | Review

The ancient wisdom pertaining to skincare is nothing to joke about. Like our elders often say, they had it all figured out until we came along and messed it up! This holds true almost completely when it comes to skincare and haircare rituals and many modern brands are going back to our roots to come up with products that are contemporary in their outlook yet traditional in essence. The Vya Naturals Turmeric Brightening Scrub is an excellent example of this skincare approach. This scrub is a face mask and scrub combined in one and is packed with the goodness of wild turmeric, an irreplaceable ingredient of traditional skincare rituals.
Vya Naturals Turmeric Brightening Scrub | Review
The product comes in the form of a dry powder that needs to be combined with a wet ingredient to create a face pack. The brand recommends using rose water if you have oily skin and milk or curd if you have normal to dry skin. I like using this powder mixed in with yogurt even though I have combination to oily skin.
One whiff of this powder and you will feel like you are surrounded by sandalwood and essence from a pooja. The powder not only smells amazing but is also packed with the anti-oxidant and brightening properties of turmeric along with a combination of some age-old skincare ingredients such as milk powder and besan and some contemporary and unique ones such as beetroot extracts, carrot extracts, and strawberry extracts.
Vya Naturals Turmeric Brightening Scrub | Review
The powder easily combines with the curd to form a smooth paste which I then apply all over my face. I also use the paste on my arms to get rid of the inevitable tan. I leave the paste on for around 10 minutes and then exfoliate using the same in a circular motion. When mixed with yogurt, the paste does not become overly dry on the skin and does not give a stretchy feeling. In fact, some of the moisture gets absorbed into the skin making it feel plumper than before. The walnut scrub particles are not too chunky but they exfoliate really well upon remoistening the mask and provide a medium exfoliation without being too gritty and harsh.
Vya Naturals Turmeric Brightening Scrub | Review
Upon washing off the rest of the product, my skin looks visibly brighter, and with regular usage at least twice a week, the product helps in getting rid of stubborn tanning. Also, the antiseptic properties of turmeric help curb acne and other skin infections, making this scrub the perfect choice for the humid Monsoon weather. Using this product not only makes my skin feel healthier than before but its calming fragrance also makes me feel pampered and relaxed as if I am at a spa.
Vya Naturals Turmeric Brightening Scrub | Review
Trust me, you will understand the purity of this product once you smell it and look at its texture. This is why I don’t mind paying INR 695 for a 100gm jar of this scrub. The product is effective yet gentle and does not dry out the skin at all. Basically, it combines the best of the old and the new and removes the hassle of sourcing and storing all the ingredients for making a DIY mask. So if you want a mild and effective way to sort out skin problems such as acne, dullness, and pigmentation then this turmeric scrub might be your saviour!

Fabeya – Natural and Affordable Skincare | Review

So I recently received a few products from Fabeya, a natural skincare brand that has a wide range of face and body scrubs and gels with fascinating ingredients catering to different skin types, and I immediately fell in love with everything in the package. I received the Activated Charcoal Face & Body Scrub, the Organic Papaya Gel, and the Apple Cider Vinegar Body Scrub & Polish, and all three products are made with natural, no-nonsense ingredients, with no parabens, sulphates, alcohol, phthalates, or artificial colours in them. Not only are these products a perfect example of the clean skincare I have been talking about these days, they are also perfect for the hot and sultry Indian summer. So without much ado, here are my thoughts on these three gems.

Fabeya - Natural and Affordable Skincare | Review

Fabeya - Natural and Affordable Skincare | Review

Activated Charcoal is a skincare ingredient that probably needs no introduction. Everybody knows about its efficacy at sucking out all the gunk from the pores, leaving the skin squeaky clean. However, what makes the Fabeya Activated Charcoal Face and Body Scrub Unique is the fact that it is super creamy and extremely gentle compared to any other activated charcoal products that I have tried. Most charcoal products are not suitable for those with dry or sensitive skin, but this soothing scrub with tiny exfoliating particles should suit all skin types. As I mentioned, the product is super creamy and hydrating and offers a cooling sensation to the skin while the tiny beads provide mild exfoliation. It is an extremely comforting product to use at the end of a long day and leaves the skin looking brighter, rejuvenated and bump-free. This is probably my favourite product out of the three and I will definitely recommend it to everybody.

The Fabeya Organic Papaya Gel is a soothing, light-weight gel with a delicious fruity scent. Papaya is known for its calming and brightening properties, which makes this gel perfect as an after-sun treatment. Just pop it in the fridge for some time and then apply a generous layer to your sun-burnt skin, the gel will cool down the skin and reverse the sun damage at the same time. You can also use this as the last step in your nighttime skincare routine to seal all the serums and creams in place, or can apply it as a soothing face mask for around 5-10 minutes and then rinse with some water. This product is perfect for those with sensitive or extremely oily skin as it hydrates and brightens without being too heavy. If your skin is suffering from the harsh summer sunlight then you must incorporate this product into your skincare routine.

Fabeya - Natural and Affordable Skincare | Review

Apple Cider Vinegar is packed with a ton of benefits for the skin, is rich in anti-toxins, and is supposed to be excellent at fighting acne and brightening the skin. The Fabeya Apple Cider Vinegar Body Scrub & Polish is the first apple cider vinegar scrub that I have tried and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. The product comes in the form of a hydrating cream with tiny walnut shell particles embedded in it. The scrub particles are gritty enough to remove dead skin, ingrown hair, or a tan with ease without being extremely harsh. The cream in itself has a mild cooling effect on the skin and leaves the skin looking visibly smoother and brighter after each use without making it dry. This product is excellent for taking care of the skin of the body, which often gets neglected when compared to the skin of the face.

Fabeya - Natural and Affordable Skincare | Review

Needless to say, I am in love with all the three products and will definitely be trying out more products from Fabeya. All their products come in gigantic 340 ml tubs that are priced around the INR 400 mark, but are currently available on Amazon at INR 299. Affordable and all-natural skincare couldn’t get any better than this. So if you are looking for smooth, healthy-looking and bright skin this summer then do give Fabeya a shot, I am sure you won’t be disappointed!

Kanai Organics – Plant Based Beauty | Review

Clean skincare is something that always attracts me, and when the brand sources ingredients from the wonderful ecosystems of the country and gives back to the remotest regions of India, I am definitely going to talk about it. This fascinating brand is Kanai Organics, a plant-based beauty brand that has recently released an Avocado Oil Moisturiser and an Aloe Vera Manjishtha Face Wash. Before talking about these products in detail, here is a brief introduction about the brand:

“Kanai’s emphasis is on making nature the star of the product. Using ingredients like Apricot, Turmeric, Aloe Vera, Reetha, Manjistha, Sesame, Avocado, Nutmeg, we build products that promise to enhance and beautify naturally. Our promise to the customer is that at least 95% of the ingredients used will be natural and ethically sourced by using fair trade practices.

Our idea of beauty doesn’t just limit itself to the body but also to the heart. And what better way to prove it than to be kind and give back to those that deserve it the most? Kanai remains committed to never testing on animals and giving away proceeds from the sale of each product to the Rural Development Institute which works to address the needs of women, children and adolescents in some of the remotest parts of the Himalayas.”

Kanai Organics - Plant Based Beauty | Review

I love the honesty of the brand where they claim to be at least 95% natural, whereas many brands resort to marketing gimmicks where they claim that they are 100% natural but the ingredient list states otherwise. This brand is inspired by Indian ingredients and is making sure that the growers of these ingredients continue to have a livelihood. This really impressed me even before I started using the products, but without much ado, here are my thoughts on their face wash and moisturiser.

Kanai Organics - Plant Based Beauty | Review

My skin loves anything with Avocado oil in it and the Kanai Avocado Oil Moisturiser is no exception. It contains a lot of ingredients that are great for the skin, such as sesame oil, liquorice & neem extracts, and of course, avocado oil and is rich in Vitamins A, C, D, E, and K. I also love the fact that it has a natural SPF 15 in it, which is great for when you are stepping out for a short while. This moisturiser is extremely light-weight and sinks into the skin beautifully, without leaving any white cast. It has a mild pleasant scent and an extremely soothing effect on the skin. This moisturiser can be used on the body as well as the face, but I have been using it only on my body and I must say, my skin feels way softer and smoother than before. Priced at INR 600 for a 100ml tube, I feel that the price of the product is justified considering the great ingredients and the fact that some of the proceeds from every purchase go towards supporting the rural communities of the Himalayan region.

The Kanai Aloe Vera Manjishtha Face Wash is very unique because it is free of chemical soap, and contains natural Reetha extracts instead. Because of this, the face wash is extremely gentle and does not lather much, but cleanses the skin really well. The Manjishtha extracts brighten the skin while the aloe vera hydrates it. My skin feels baby soft after each wash and has not broken out since I started using the product. In fact, my existing acne has also reduced significantly because of this face wash. This product is perfect for those with extremely dry or sensitive skin, and those with oily skin can use it as a second step of a double cleanse routine. Priced at INR 550 for a 100ml tube, this face wash is a must buy for all those whose skin is extremely sensitive to chemicals.

As you can probably tell, I am already a huge fan of the brand and can’t wait for them to come up with more products. Meanwhile, why don’t you try these two products and let me know what you think about them?

Seer Secrets Honey & Geranium Pore Refining Multi Cleanser | Review

Ask any Indian grandma how to cope with dry skin in the winter months and she will lovingly direct you towards a bowl of honey. Honey helps in retaining the skin’s moisture in the cold weather and adds a bounciness and youthfulness to the skin, which is exactly what the Seer Secrets Honey & Geranium Pore Refining Multi Cleanser is also able to do. This extremely gentle face wash is a boon for those who suffer from dry, irritated, chapped, or sensitive skin and here is why I say so.

Seer Secrets Honey & Geranium Pore Refining Multi Cleanser | Review

The proof of the pudding is in its ingredients and this face wash has coconut extracts, raw honey, geranium oil, and rosewood essential oil as its key ingredients. These ingredients make sure that while the cleanser removes dirt from the pores, the skin does not lose its natural oils and suppleness. The formula is in the form of a honey colored gel that does not froth a lot and feels very mild on the skin. This lack of excessive froth makes sure that the product is not dehydrating at all.

Seer Secrets Honey & Geranium Pore Refining Multi Cleanser | Review

This gentle formula is suitable for those who have been struggling with sensitive skin that reacts to harsh chemicals in face washes. I also love its sweet, refreshing scent that is very relaxing.

Seer Secrets Honey & Geranium Pore Refining Multi Cleanser | Review

The product comes in a bottle with a pump that makes it so convenient to use. The price of INR 387 for a 100ml bottle is a little steep but if you have never found the perfect product for dry and sensitive skin then your search will definitely end with this product. A must buy for the cold weather in my opinion!

I hope that the review is useful. Click here to buy the Seer Secrets Honey & Geranium Pore Refining Multi Cleanser on Amazon.

SkinYoga Marigold Foot Soak | Review

I have recently been obsessed with foot soaks because nothing beats soaking your feet in warm, fragrant water when you wish to unwind after a long day. One of the foot soaks that I have been using lately is the SkinYoga Marigold Foot Soak, which is a combination of marigold extracts, sea salt, and coconut oil.

SkinYoga Marigold Foot Soak | Review

This foot soak is more of a moisturizing foot soak than a detanning or exfoliating one. It comes in the form of a vibrant yellow crumbly powder which contains bits of marigold petals and solid coconut oil. Upon mixing with warm water, the oil turns into a liquid and the petals remain floating in the water, creating a hydrating and luxurious looking soak.

SkinYoga Marigold Foot Soak | Review

My feet feel completely relaxed and moisturized after dipping them in this foot soak for around 10-15 minutes. Like I said, this product is not very exfoliating but the salt and the warm water do help to get rid of some of the dead skin, revealing softer feet. Overall, this is a nice product for pampering your feet but the price of INR 1550 for 200gms of product seems a little steep to me. However, one sachet shown in the picture is of 22gms and gives me 2-3 uses when used judiciously, so it is not too expensive if you do the math. If you like hydrating foot soaks and love colorful bath products then you must give this one a shot!

I hope that this review was helpful, you can buy the SkinYoga Marigold Foot Soak here.
