Rimmel 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation – 301 Warm Honey | Review and Swatches

When a foundation claims to last for 25 hours and numerous beauty bloggers swear by it, you have to try it out, right? The fact that the said foundation is created by one of my favorite drugstore brands, Rimmel, was another factor that encouraged me to buy this tube that comes with the promise of flawless skin. So, did the Rimmel 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation live up to my expectations? Read on to find out!

Rimmel 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation ReviewI purchased this foundation online, which means that selecting the shade was quite a task. My basic strategy is to go for a darker than medium shade, especially if it is a foundation by an international brand. The shade I went for was 301 Warm Honey, which is a peach toned beige that matches the shade of my skin quite perfectly. Unfortunately though, the foundation tends to turn lighter on my skin with time and gives the appearance of a white cast within a few hours. This was quite a bummer for me because I really loved the texture and coverage of the foundation, perhaps I need to try another shade from the range to form a more solid opinion on the “whitening” phenomenon.

Rimmel 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation 301 Warm HoneyTexturewise, the foundation is quite impressive, it has a liquid consistency but still manages to provide almost full coverage on the skin! This is the reason that I love this foundation so much, it covers all blemishes and gives the appearance of perfect skin without looking cakey. I haven’t really tested the 25-hour claim but I can confirm that it does stay put on the skin for 12 hours without getting shiny or patchy. I would say that the finish is a natural matte that should work with most skin types.

Rimmel 25 Hour Lasting Finsh Foundation Review Swatches 301 Warm HoneyThe foundation comes in a 30ml tube, which is priced at INR 600 in India. I was afraid at first that the tube will make the product go everywhere but it is not as messy as I had feared. In fact, it does dispense the right amount of product with a gentle squeeze. To be honest, INR 600 is a price that I would happily pay for a full coverage, long lasting foundation like this one. If only the white cast issue had not existed, this would have been the perfect foundation for me! I encourage all of you to try out this product but do go to a store and swatch the shades to make sure that the foundation does not change color on your skin. If you find the right shade in this range, you will never reach for another foundation!

I hope that this review was helpful, you can buy the Rimmel 25 Hour Lasting Finish Foundation in the shade 301 Warm Honey here.

L.A. Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD – Medium Beige & Espresso | Review & Swatches

The L.A. Girl Cosmetics Pro Conceal HD range of concealers has received a lot of love and rave reviews from the blogging community. This got me excited to try out the range because foundations and concealers are my most used beauty products. To be true to my critical nature regarding makeup, I have to admit that I have mixed feelings about this product.

L.A. Girl Pro HD Concealer Warm Beige Espresso ReviewThese concealers come in a HUGE range of shades which is highly commendable but can be a bit intimidating to select from. I went for the shade Medium Beige (GC978) to use as a concealer and the shade Espresso (GC985) as a shade for contouring. Colorwise, Medium Beige is quite the perfect match for me, it is a warm beige with a slightly yellow undertone, which should complement Asian and Indian skin tones quite well. Espresso looks like a cool brown in the tube and when swatched, however, once blended, it leaves a slightly orange-brown undertone on my face, which I am not a huge fan of. However, I can still make it work as a good contouring shade, with the right amount of blending and mixing in with a cool toned concealer.

L.A. Pro Conceal HD Concealers Warm Beige Espresso SwatchesTexture wise, these concealers are the closest to the Loreal True Match concealers, which are my holy grail concealers. They are creamy and liquidy and build up well on the skin without appearing thick or cakey. They do provide a good medium coverage, but somehow I am never able to achieve the full coverage that I am able to get with the True Match concealers. You will need a high coverage foundation or excellent concealing skills to build these up to a full coverage. The more natural finish, however, makes these concealers perfect for contouring, because they blend well without leaving any harsh lines on the skin.

L.A. Girl Pro HD Concealer Warm Beige Espresso PackagingThe major qualm that I have with this product is the packaging. Perhaps I am using it incorrectly, but the squeeze tube with the plastic brush at the end doesn’t really work well for me. It either ends up squirting out too much product, or nothing at all. My preferred way of using the product is to squeeze some onto my palm and then apply it to the face with a brush. If you are not picky about the applicator and are looking for a medium coverage concealer that provides a natural finish, these concealer tubes priced at INR 590 might work really well for you. Personally, I prefer these more for contouring than for concealing, but they are decent concealers as well, to say the least.

BellaPierre Mineral Foundation – Cinnamon | Review

One makeup product that is the trickiest to apply during the summer months is foundation. Most medium to full coverage liquid foundations do not work well in hot and humid climates and end up clogging the pores. Therefore, as the temperature starts rising, I switch to mineral foundations, and the Bellapierre Cosmetics Mineral Foundation in the shade Cinnamon is my favorite.

This foundation comes in the form of a finely milled loose powder. I apply it with my trusty Real Techniques brush after using a primer and cream concealer on my skin. On its own, this foundation provides a medium coverage but I still feel that I need a little concealer for my blemishes and dark circles. A primer is essential to make the powder stay in place, but for the summers you can use a lightweight moisturizer instead. The product stays on my skin for around 4 hours after which I need a touch-up. The packaging is pretty compact and you can carry it around to conceal the shine throughout the day. The tiny holes allow just the right amount of powder to make it to the exposed surface but still be cautious as the powder does tend to go everywhere.

The shade Cinnamon is a yellow toned color that works perfectly for my skin tone. It offers a matte finish that keeps the oil at bay and lets my skin breathe even in the summer months. Spritzing a bit of rose water after applying the foundation also helps with making it sit better on the skin. I have added an image of me wearing this foundation on top of concealer for reference. It is also available in a bunch of different shades but is a bit pricey ($18 for 0.3 ounces). If you are willing to make the investment then this mineral foundation is perfect for oily skin and can cover small blemishes. If you like a more natural finish and do not want full coverage then this product is an excellent choice for daily use in the hot climate.
