Seer Secrets Watermelon Coconut and Turmeric Lip Saviour | Review

The Seer Secrets Lip Saviour comes in a cute packaging – a jar with a screw-on lid which is very travel-friendly. The formula itself looks waxy in the jar but melts when rubbed between the fingers, leaving behind a beautiful oily consistency. It literally glides on the lips, gets absorbed within seconds, and does not look crusty or cakey. It provides a golden sheen to the lips and also has some tiny granules that provide gentle exfoliation during application. These granules may stand out a little on the lips, so you may want to pick them out if using the lip balm during the day.

The formula contains many nourishing ingredients such as coconut essential oil, watermelon extract, vitamin E and Cocoa butter, and therefore provides intense hydration to the lips that lasts for several hours. Of course, it contains turmeric too, which protects the lips and prevents chapping and irritation. The formula contains SPF12 as well and will therefore provide some protection to the lips from sunlight too. I also love the fruity scent of the lip balm that lingers on for an hour or so post application.

Overall, I love this lip balm because it is essentially like a lip oil available in solid form that literally melts on the lips. It provides intense hydration and protection and can really help with restoring the softness of severely chapped lips. Priced at INR 315 for a jar that will last you several months, this is a product that you must try out!

Hedonista Choco-Nut Lip Salve | Review

I received the Hedonista Choco-Nut Lip Salve in my Mauvelush November Mellow  Edition and my lips have been smelling and tasting like chocolate ever since. This gourmet lip balm is made of ingredients such as melted chocolate, peanut butter and cocoa butter which makes it hard not to eat a spoonful of the product. It also contains a bunch of nourishing oils such as castor oil, jojoba oil, coconut oil, as well as beeswax, that make it extremely rich and hydrating.

Hedonista Choco-Nut Lip Salve | Review

The lip balm is pretty thick but melts upon application, leaving a nourishing layer of oil on the lips that makes them super soft and moisturized. I am usually not a fan of lip balms that come in a tub packaging because you need to dip your fingers in them every single time, but this kind of a thick and waxy lip balm is what my lips need during the colder months or else they become extremely parched.

Hedonista Choco-Nut Lip Salve | Review

The lip balm is almost transparent and does not sit oddly on the lips like some of the other thicker lip balms. It sinks into the lips really fast and keeps them hydrated for several hours. If you are someone who enjoys the smell of chocolate then you will love this product, especially for the winter months. However, if you are not a fan of strong, sweet scents in beauty products then you may want to give this one a pass.

Hedonista Choco-Nut Lip Salve | Review

Overall, I do enjoy this product a lot and love its cute (and luxurious) packaging too. I also appreciate the fact that this lip salve does not contain any parabens, sulfates or phthalates. I do wish that the price of the product was much lesser than the INR 465 for which it retails but to be fair this 15gm tub will last you for months. This is a must buy for lip balm lovers who prefer something extra-nourishing as well as uniquely flavored.

Soultree Viola & Kokum Butter Lip Balm | Review

Unlike most people, I am extremely picky about my lip balms. Anything that needs to be reapplied twenty times a day or clings to the dry patches does not make the cut for me. This obsession for lip balms started during my college years when I first discovered the joys (read sorrows) of pigmented and chapped lips. My lips still act up occasionally when I become a little lazy about scrubbing or moisturizing them, which is when I need a good sheer lip balm to come to my rescue. The Soultree Viola & Kokum Butter Lip Balm is what is currently nourishing my lips and I am absolutely loving it!

Soultree Viola & Kokum Butter Lip Balm | Review

This lovely lip balm looks mauvish pink in the tube but does not impart any color to the lips. However, it is top notch in the hydration department and leaves my lips feeling moisturized for hours, without any greasiness or stickiness. When freshly applied, it smells like the coconut toffees that every kid in India consumed during the 90’s but the scent disappears soon and it does not have any discernible taste either. The formula contains Ghee, which is known to lighten pigmented lips while hydrating them, as well as a blend of seven organic oils and Kokum Butter. It is also free of parabens, sulfates, lead, and petroleum, and is a vegetarian product.

Soultree Viola & Kokum Butter Lip Balm | Review

I love the softness that this lip balm imparts to my lips as well as the longevity of the product (I only apply it twice a day). The violet and brown packaging has also stolen my heart, although the cap does not click shut, which means that the cap may come off if not stored carefully and the lip balm may collect dust and grime. Other than this flaw in the packaging, I absolutely adore this product and feel that the price tag of INR 295 for 3.5 gms of lip balm is completely justified. This is definitely going to be my autumn-winter staple and if you are a lip balm snob just like me then you should also get your hands on this product asap!

Anatomicals Stop Cracking Up Lip Balm | Review

If you are a fan of the old school tubes of lip treatments then you will definitely love the Anatomicals Stop Cracking Up Lip Balm. This product stands out among the tubs and sticks due to its unique packaging. In the age of creamy, solid balms, this product brings a refreshing change with its glossy, almost oily texture. In fact, I would say that it is an affordable alternative to the luxurious lip oils that have made an entry into the makeup world.

Anatomicals Stop Cracking Up Lip Balm Packaging

Just like all the other products from Anatomicals, this one comes in a vibrant and quirky packaging that is bound to liven up your vanity. Texturewise, it is like an oily lip gloss, but in a good way. As it is a liquid and not a traditional balm, you will need to reapply it every 2-3 hours to keep your lips moisturized. It is not very intensely moisturizing or thick, instead, it leaves your lips lightly hydrated and glossy. As an added bonus, it smells like coconuts, a perfect scent for summer!

Anatomicals Stop Cracking Up Lip Balm Swatch Review

Priced at INR 399 for a 15ml tube, I think this lip balm is a good investment for those who do not like the feel of thick balms on their lips. It doubles up as a clear lip gloss and provides a juicy look to the lips. If you are a lip balm junkie, this product will definitely add some variation to your collection!

Vichy Aqualia Thermal Soothing and Repairing Lip Balm | Review

An annoying thing about some lip balms is that they can be quite thick and can cling to the chapped portions of the lips. Not a pretty look for lips that are already dry and damaged. If you face this problem with your lip balms then you might want to give the Vichy Aqualia Thermal Lip Balm a shot. Bear in mind that this lip balm is expensive and will set you back INR 490 for 4.7ml of the product, so if you are happy with your current lip balm then there is no need to spend so much money. However, if you feel that most lip balms do not sit right on your lips then this investment might be worth it.

The formula is super nourishing and has a slightly oily feel to it, but in a good way. It gets absorbed quickly and leaves a very thin layer of the product on the lips that stays there for 4-5 hours. It is a transparent lip balm that imparts a natural shine to the lips without exaggerating the cracks and patches. I would not recommend applying a lip color on top of this one because things could get a little slippery. It is better to use this on the no makeup days or as an overnight lip treatment.

The lip balm has some great ingredients such as shea butter, glycerin, and vitamin E and does not contain any parabens. The formula also contains the famous Vichy Thermal Spa Water and is hypoallergenic, making it perfect for those with super sensitive lips. I like the mild fragrance and the light texture of this lip balm for the summer months and it has become a staple for me. Other than the price which is quite steep, this could be a game changer for those of you whose lips simply do not cooperate!

Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain 001 India Intrigue | Review

Today is one of those horrible days when nothing seems to be going well! On such occasions when I am lacking motivation and energy, a bright lipstick helps in eliminating the blues and makes me feel more put together. On sick days, I stick with easy to apply, dependable makeup that is also comfortable to wear. The Revlon Colorstay Moisture Stain in the shade 001 India Intrigue fits the bill perfectly!

There isn’t a single thing that I dislike about this product, which is quite rare for a picky person like me. The formula is very moisturizing and glides on evenly with the help of the doe foot applicator. The color is a blue toned dark pink which is quite opaque when applied but fades gradually throughout the day, leaving behind a beautiful pink stain. I love the perky pink shade that is capable of lifting my spirits and brightening my face instantly.

What I like the most about this product is that the color does not settle in the creases and the tint lasts on my lips for at least 8 hours.

The product is priced at INR 725 for an 8ml bottle but is available in a wide array of colors, at around INR 550, on various online portals. It is a perfect, hydrating lip color for the low-maintenance days 🙂

Revlon Colorburst Matte Balm in Elusive

Matte pink lips are probably one of the most popular looks for daily wear, they complement most outfits and are work appropriate too. The Revlon Colorbust Matte Balm in the shade Elusive provides the perfect pink matte finish to the lips without being too uncomfortable to wear.

The product is marketed as a matte balm, which means that it is smoother and more moisturizing than a matte lipstick. The balm has a minty scent as well as a slight tingling sensation on the lips, quite like lip plumping products although it doesn’t make my lips any fuller. Do not be fooled by the word “balm” because, unlike most balms, this product provides great color payoff which is completely opaque in one swipe. The shade Elusive is a pretty blue toned pink which is a bit too light for my medium skin tone but would look amazing on lighter skin tones in my opinion. Be wary of the fact that the color does look darker in the packaging as compared to on the lips.

Personally, I find this formula to be very unforgiving when it comes to pigmented or chapped lips, it exaggerates all the lines and cracks on my lips :(. I recommend scrubbing and moisturizing your lips before applying this product so as to prevent creasing. The color lasts on my lips for a good 4-5 hours and does not transfer much on eating or drinking. Revlon Colorburst Matte Balms are available in 8 different shades in India which are all perfect for different Indian skin tones. A 2.7 gm crayon is available for INR 950 which I feel is a good price for a matte lip product and I would suggest giving this range a shot.
