Instaglam Sugar Kiss Lip Serum | Review

If you are anything like me, the one item that you will have in excess is lipstick. I can’t live without one!!But just as a great lipstick will instantly make your day, if the lips are not taken care of, not even the best in the world can make them look good. There are many things that can lead to chapped, pigmented lips, such as smoking, using cheap lipsticks, not removing the lipstick before bed, etc. I am not guilty of the first one but am certainly guilty of the other two.
So, when I heard about a lip serum from one of my favourite Instagrammers, I knew I had to try it out. My lips used to be quite pigmented and dry no matter how much balm I used. This serum, called Sugar Kiss, from a brand called Instaglam (@insta_glam_beauty
on Instagram), who make their products by hand and from natural, high-quality ingredients only, sorted this out. Long story short, I got it and have been using it for the last few months – of course, like with any skincare products, it took time for the effect to show, but I am glad to say that this serum did what it claimed to do.
So, let’s start with the bottle.

As you can see, the bottle is a simple dark bottle with a dropper. There wasn’t an outer box in the packaging but the bottle came securely packed.
The dropper is good, picks up an adequate amount of product in one squeeze and you just need two to three drops per application.

The label has all the information (don’t mind mine, it has become nearly transparent with the passage of time) including the directions for use.
So, let’s see the ingredient list first.

As you can see, the product does not have any chemicals in it, just some fantastic oils.
The smell is very soothing, rose-like with a hint of citrus. The serum is colourless, and the consistency is that of an oil.
As for the directions for use, it is advised to be used at night so that it can work overnight and repair your lips. It can also be used a lip primer.
My experience with Sugar Kiss lip serum – I lament the fact that I did not take a picture of my lips before I started using this serum. Then I could have shown you the great difference it has made to my lips. Of course, it happened over a period of time,
but there will be an immediate noticeable difference in your lip colour when you apply the product. It is not absorbed immediately and takes a little time to sink in. Once it does, your lips will feel hydrated and soft. I generally apply the serum as the last step before going to bed and wake up with moist lips even when the weather is cold. If my lips are super dry for some reason, I wait a bit for the serum to settle in and then apply a lip balm.

I use this product mostly at night, and during the day if I am wearing a liquid lipstick, especially the super drying kind like the Sugar Cosmetics ones. In such cases, I put on the lip serum before I start my makeup. By the time it comes to applying lipstick, the serum is mostly absorbed by the lips and if not, I lightly dab it with a tissue paper. Then I apply the lipstick and it goes on smoothly. When I use Sugar Kiss as a lip primer, I do not experience that drying feeling that many liquid lipsticks have. They also don’t crumble from the inside as much as they normally do after a few hours.

So, if you are a lipstick addict like me, then make sure to get this product. It is priced at INR 550 for 15 ml and you can order it through the Instagram page here. Since you just need two drops for each use, it will last you really long. I have been using it since September, and still, 1/4th is left! It is a great deal which your lips will love.
