If there is one haircare product that you should NEVER travel without, especially if you are a fine-haired, oily scalped gal like me, it is dry shampoo. When I was looking for a travel-sized dry shampoo from Batiste, I was disappointed to find out that they do not stock a mini of their Divine and Dark variant in India. Still being a loyal lover of Batiste, I picked up the mini that WAS available, the Fruity and Cheeky Cherry Variant. Here is why I love this dry shampoo as much as the other variants from Batiste that I have already reviewed on the blog.
First of all, let’s get this out of the way, I love the scent of cherry -so anything cherry-scented has to float my boat. Additionally, this particular dry shampoo, despite not being tinted, does not leave much white cast at all on the hair. The small amount of white cast that it does give can easily be taken care of by brushing the product through the hair. Also, it leaves 2nd-day hair looking extremely fresh and bouncy for the next two days, which is more than what I expect from a dry shampoo. This is definitely what you need when you are travelling to attend a special event or for work and don’t have much time or styling tools on your hands.
Overall, this mini (50ml) dry shampoo spray can priced at INR 299 only is a handbag and travel essential for sure. Whether your hair needs a quick refresh at the end of the day or you want to extend your shampooed hair look for a couple of extra days on vacay, you can’t go wrong with this product!
I promised you guys a while back that I will be reviewing a few hair products that are specifically designed for fine hair, so here I am. Today I will be reviewing the BBlunt Full On Volume Shampoo and Conditioner. BBlunt is a brand that is designed keeping the Indian climate and hair types in mind and this particular range claims to work on fine hair by providing them more volume, bounce, and life.
Both the shampoo and the conditioner contain rice protein for adding volume to the hair, glycerin for providing moisture, and provitamin B5 to repair damage and add lustre and shine to the hair. They are both white liquids that emanate a pleasant, aquatic scent that reminds me of a swimming pool. As you can see, the packaging of both the items is quite quirky, and although it is definitely not travel-friendly because of the added bulk, I do quite enjoy displaying these bottles in my bathroom. Also, the pump on the shampoo is certainly a plus.
As for the performance of the products, the shampoo lathers pretty well and a small amount of the product leaves the hair feeling fresh and clean. After following it up with the conditioner, my hair feels smooth and soft, and looks healthier too. Upon drying, my hair looks more voluminous and bouncier than usual however does not feel overly dry or stripped. BBlunt has done a good job at creating a formula that provides a right mix of hydration and cleansing, leaving limp hair looking more bouncy but not rough like a bird’s nest. Do keep in mind that these products do not make your hair thicker, but what they do is add an illusion of thickness by making the hair more bouncy and fluffy.
If you are someone suffering from limp hair then the BBlunt Full On Volume Shampoo & Conditioner will definitely provide an oomph factor to your hair. I will recommend using both the shampoo and the conditioner together for best results. The shampoo is priced at INR 600 for a 400ml bottle while the conditioner is priced at INR 400 for a 200gm bottle. This is a pretty good deal when compared to the salon ranges of most brands. For years I have been looking for a shampoo that adds a bounce to my mane without stripping my hair completely dry, and have finally found an Indian brand which is affordable too! These products have become holy grail items for me and I am sure that if you have fine hair like mine then you too will fall in love with them.
I hope that this review was useful. You can buy the BBlunt Full On Volume Shampoo here and the BBlunt Full On Volume Conditioner here.

All those with oily hair that start looking greasy a few hours after washing will know the pains of finding the right shampoo. Unfortunately, I am one such person but the good thing about that is that over the years I have created a list of shampoos that leave the roots squeaky clean and fluffy without weighing the hair down in the least. The OGX Thick and Full Biotin & Collagen Shampoo is one such product that is perfect for the greasy-haired ladies.
This product comes in the typical OGX packaging and claims to make the hair look thicker with the help of the goodness of biotin and collagen. Although I do not see much improvement in the thickness of the hair, it does make them look more voluminous, especially at the roots. It is the kind of shampoo that does not leave an oily residue on the hair but does not leave the hair looking super dry either. It cleans the hair thoroughly and provides a bounce to them, thanks to its lightweight formula.
The shampoo has a non-runny consistency and a light violet color. If you sniff the bottle then the scent is a mixture of a chemical odor and a sweet fragrance, however, on the hair, only the sweet fragrance lingers on for hours. The product lathers up pretty easily and I need a coin sized amount to cover my almost waist length hair. A single wash is enough to get rid of dirt and product buildup and the lather can be rinsed off very easily. I have also used the conditioner from this range and it is quite nourishing without being greasy and detangles the hair pretty well. However, the bounciness factor can be achieved with the shampoo alone.
A 250 ml bottle of the OGX Thick and Full Biotin & Collagen Shampoo is available in India for INR 560. It does seem a little expensive but if you are tired of the limp hair look then this product may be worth investing in. The OGX range has some great shampoos which are cheaper than the shampoos of other brands that contain similar ingredients. So, before you invest in the Salon range of shampoos of other brands, you might want to try an OGX shampoo with a similar formula first!
