Unless you have been living under a rock, you would know that Miniso now has multiple stores in India! For those who are unfamiliar with the brand, Miniso is a Japan-based designer brand that sells a range of affordable goods, from stationery and kitchenware to skincare and travel accessories. Its USP is cute looking products at affordable prices, which is what sucks the customers in! However, some of its products can be hit or miss. Read on to find out my thoughts on the Miniso Fresh Fragrance Body Mist, and my list of things to buy and not to buy from Miniso India!
If you wish to look more put together, fresh, and energized all in one go, you just need to make sure that you smell good at all times of the day. There are many deodorants in the market that claim to last all day, but if you live in a hot and humid environment, you would know that that is not necessarily true. This is where these dinky Cinthol Woman Deo Sticks can come to your rescue. Read on to find out more about the product.
These cream deos come in handy tubes that you can throw into your handbag before heading out the door, for a quick touch up whenever you need one. The tubes have a click lid and a narrow opening for releasing the product. The packaging is very compact and easy to use, the only issue is that if the tube gets squeezed in your bag then the product will leak inside the lid and things will get a little messy.
The product is in the form of a slightly runny cream that sinks into the skin within seconds and provides a refreshing scent for 5-6 hours. It also helps in keeping the sweat at bay provided you are not going to indulge in heavy physical activity. There are a number of scents available in this range and I have used the Swirl and Inspire variants. They both have subtle, sweet scents that are quite different from each other. Swirl has more of a fresh scent and Inspire has a sweet, candy scent.
Priced at INR 60 per tube, these deo sticks are definitely a steal. This product is a handbag essential for me and I cannot recommend it enough.
While we all may love our Chanel Number 5, most of us cannot afford it for day to day use. This is where body mists and splashes come into the picture and I have recently fallen in love with the Nike Body Splashes. Read on to find out what these body splashes have to offer.
The Nike Body Splashes are long-lasting subtle and classic fragrances that last on the skin for a good 5-7 hours depending on how much you sweat and where you live. They have variants for both men and women and the scents vary from sporty fresh fragrances to sweet or musky ones. The sleek plastic packaging is super compact and light weight, extremely easy to carry around or to travel with. Also, the price ranges between INR 180-220, which is very affordable for regular use.
While Fission is a subtle sweet scent, Up or Down is slightly more zesty. If you do not like flowery or fruity body mists then these will be up your alley. Urban Musk for men is true to its name and has a classic masculine, strong musky scent.
Overall, these body splashes check all the right boxes for me and I love experimenting with a new variant every time. They are very unique when compared to most body mists in the market and their subtle scents are perfect for those who do not like their fragrances to be too overpowering. In summary, they are absolute value for money and I highly recommend that you try at least one of these scents out.
Available at most local pharmacies and drugstores in India.
I am a huge fan of citrus scents, especially in the summer months, and like to drench my home, clothes, and skin in lemony fragrances when the mercury rises. The Ryaal Grapefruit Essential Oil has recently become my favourite oil for the diffuser because it adds a fresh summery scent to my home that has a calming effect on my mind. I trust the quality of Ryaal’s essential oils and their 100% pure grapefruit essential oil is no exception. Here are some of the ways in which I use this product.
You can use this delightful grapefruit oil in your diffuser for some relaxing aroma therapy and can also apply a few drops to your clothes or pillow for its refreshing scent to uplift your mood all day long. An added bonus of this is that the scent keeps the mosquitoes away, which is a MAJOR plus if you live in India. Grapefruit oil is also great at brightening dull and tired skin, so you can mix in a drop with your face mask or serum to get that natural glow on your face. Honestly, there are a bunch of other ways in which this product can be used but these are my favourite ways to use this oil.
Everything about this product is perfect, from the sturdy bottle with a dropper, to the super affordable price of INR 199 for 15ml of product, to the quality of the oil. Ryaal also has a bunch of other essential oils in their collection which you can try in case you are not grapefruit-crazy like me. So do check out their fascinating range and let me know if you try out any of their products 🙂
If you have been following this blog for some time, you might know that I am not the hugest fan of solid soaps and prefer body washes instead. I never purchase soap bars for myself, but when I received the Bahala Handmade Soaps in a giveaway hamper from HoneyPot, their fragrance was so alluring that I HAD TO start using them asap! So here are my thoughts on these lovely handmade soaps.
I received two soaps from the range, the Coffe n Oatmeal soap and the Orange n Lemongrass soap. The former smells exactly like cookies and cream while the latter has the sweet and zesty scent of orange. When you put one of these soap bars in your bathroom, trust me you won’t need a room freshener, that’s how beautiful their scents are, without any fake perfumy notes. Also, these soap bars are nor weirdly shaped or sticky like many of the handmade soaps out there, which is why using them is not a messy affair at all.
I have used the Coffee n Oatmeal soap quite a lot and it is extremely hydrating and gentle on the skin aka perfect for winters. Coffee has anti-oxidising properties while oatmeal is famous as a nourishing skin food that heals and repairs dry and damaged skin. It froths easily but is not overly drying on the skin, my body feels well-moisturised after using the soap and the calming oatmeal scent lingers on for hours. I haven’t used the Orange n Lemongrass soap much yet but its ingredients are perfect to prevent oiliness and infections, something that will definitely help those with acne-prone skin. I think I will get more use from this in the warmer months because its sweet orange scent and astringent properties are ideal for summer.
Each of these soap bars is priced at INR 125 but I think that the price is appropriate for how good they are. They have natural ingredients and have improved the texture of my skin more than any body wash ever has. Perhaps this brand has converted me into a soap bar lover! So, if you are looking for a fragrant and nourishing bath experience then do give Bahala soaps a try!
I always tend to switch up my fragrance when the weather moves from summer to winter. While I am all about light, aquatic-floral scents in the summer months, I prefer something warmer, sweeter, and muskier in the winters. This year, my winter scent is The Body Shop White Musk Smoky Rose Fragrance Mist. The Body Shop has different scents in its musk range but this is the perfect one for me because it isn’t too spicy or sweet, and nor is it too strong and manly, due to the floral hits of rose.
When you first spray the scent, the top notes that are quite musky will hit you and it will smell more sharp than floral, but once you let it settle for around 20-30 minutes, it turns into a beautiful blend of musk and rose. I would call it a sophisticated and warm floral scent which is a more grown-up scent than an out an out floral but not too mature either. The longevity of this mist is pretty good too, it does fade throughout the day but a faint fragrance stays on my skin even the next day. It is of course not as strong as a perfume because it is a body mist but if you do not want to fill the room with fragrance yet want to smell good throughout the day then this soft fragrance will do the job for you. If you want to build it up then you can even opt for the body lotion from the range.
Overall, I am really pleased with my choice of fragrance for the cold weather and will recommend this body mist to all those who have a similar preference in scents. This mist retails for around INR 1200, which is approximately half the price of the perfume in the same scent, making it a more affordable option for students and young professionals. Personally, I do find The Body Shop products overpriced in India but still like to invest in their body mists because they last so long and suit my taste really well. So the next time you are at a Body Shop store do give this scent a whiff and I am sure you will love it too!
Perfumes are some of the most expensive personal care items in the world. A good perfume is a guilty pleasure which is best received as a birthday present instead of purchased with one’s own hard earned money 😛 Luckily, we now have body mists in the market which bring some of the most popular scents of perfume brands at approximately half the price. Unfortunately, the body mists of brands such as The Body Shop are still fairly expensive in India and are perhaps not the most pocket-friendly for many. This is why I decided to try out the Natural Bath & Body Wild Wonder Body Mist, which is one of the most affordable body mists available in India.
When freshly sprayed, this body mist has a strong floral scent with a strange salty-aquatic undertone that may put off many. However, give it some time to settle and it tones down to a mild floral scent with no hints of that saltiness. Since it is a body mist and not an Eau de Parfum, it does not last on the skin for more than 2-3 hours, but if you do not like to retouch your fragrance throughout the day then you can spritz some on your clothes for 5-6 hours of longevity. The floral scent is definitely nothing too signature or outstanding, but if you want to smell pleasant on a regular day, without your fragrance standing out too much, then this will do the job. I also love the spray on this bottle because it releases a fine and even mist instead of squirting out big droplets.
Priced at INR 325 for a 200 ml travel-friendly plastic bottle, this body mist is pretty affordable for a decent fragrance. It is nothing too amazing but not a dud product either. Since I like switching up my perfumes, I won’t be repurchasing this any time soon but I will certainly finish up this bottle (and hope that someone gifts me a fabulous perfume on a special occasion 😉 ). In the recent years, there has been a lot of uproar against deodorants that contain Aluminum because of the health hazards associated with the metal. Today I will be talking about a unique deodorant that comes in the form of a cream and is Aluminum Compound Free. This product is the Seer Secrets Lemon Cypress Japanese Mint Deodorant Cream which contains active Silver ions and claims to be a much better alternative to regular deodorant.
First of all, full marks to Seer Secrets for the packaging. The actual jar of the cream comes inside a long, cylindrical can, both of which have a cool yellow and silver design on the label. I am definitely going to reuse the outer can for storage. As for the actual cream, it is white in color and has a refreshingly sweet scent that is reminiscent of crushed lemon candy. This pleasant scent lasts in the underarm area for 2-3 hours and keeps mild body odor at bay. However, if you suffer from really bad body odor then this cream won’t be able to mask it completely. Moving on to sweat absorption, I have noticed that the cream continues to absorb sweat for a good 4-5 hours, but this time can be extended if you apply a larger amount of product to begin with. These properties make it a perfect daily deodorant for those who do not want something super strong and are going to stay in a relatively cool environment all day. If you are planning on hitting the gym or are heading outdoors on a sunny day then I would recommend something stronger.
Another thing that I love about this deodorant cream is its wonderful cooling action on the skin that lasts for at least an hour. This, along with its hydrating nature, makes it the perfect treat for the underarm area, which is often one of the most neglected parts of the body. I have already begun to notice improvements in the skin of the region after a few days of use. It has become softer and slightly brighter than usual. This product also claims to have a mild whitening action with regular use, which may be useful for those who suffer from darker underarms caused by aerosol sprays. What I appreciate about the brand is that they have provided the detailed benefits of each of the ingredients, which makes me trust the product even more. The cream contains Zinc and Silver Ions that act as anti-bacterial agents and are embedded in Kaolin clay which helps to absorb dirt. The lemon and cypress essence helps to reduce the wetness and the body odor while the Japanese Mint cools the skin and prevents itchiness and irritation. In fact, the brand states that the product can also be used to treat mild fungal infections and rashes on other parts of the body such as the neck and the toes. This is an added bonus for those who are fans of multi-tasking products.
This delightful deodorant cream is priced at INR 324 for 100gms and is available on Amazon. Pricewise, I think it is quite affordable considering the price of regular deodorants and how little of this product you need each day. As for the performance of the cream, it does exactly what it claims to do and the natural ingredients speak for themselves. This is definitely a must buy in my opinion and has left me thoroughly impressed. I am surely going to check out more products from Seer Secrets soon and will hopefully have some more amazing recommendations for you guys! Until then, do try out this deodorant cream and let me know if you love it as much as I do 🙂
This could be a controversial one. I know that the world is switching to aluminum-free, natural deodorants and that aerosol cans are damaging to the environment. However, most of my readers are based in India, where the eco-friendly deodorants are still hard to find and are also quite expensive. Personally, I hardly ever use deodorants and usually, a body mist works just fine for me. There are of course those days when I have to be out and about in the sun and I do not want to subject the world to body odor. The Nike Women Basic Yellow Deodorant is my go to product for such occasions.
If you are like me and hate the pungent undertones that most deodorants have, you will love this product. It smells just like a perfume and you can’t even tell that it is a deodorant. In fact, you do not even need to wear a perfume on the days that you use this deodorant. The scent is a sweet, candy fragrance with some warmth to it. It is not girly but it is definitely feminine. If strong, floral or musky scents make you sick then you will find this fragrance much more pleasing.
The scent lasts all day long and I feel that it even keeps the sweat at bay. A 200ml can of this product is priced at INR 250 and is available at most drugstores and online too. If you can find a natural deodorant where you live or can make one at home then that is great, but if you are stuck in a situation where you have to purchase a conventional deodorant then I would highly recommend this one.
When it comes to perfumed products, The Body Shop is the leader of the game. Their body mists are the only products I use to keep smelling great all day long. As the weather is getting warmer, a soft, summery scent is the need of the hour and if you haven’t found your perfect fragrance yet then do try The Body Shop Fijian Water Lotus Fragrance Mist.
This one is a mild aqua scent with floral undertones. It reminds me of the scent emanating from a pool of water lilies. In my opinion, this body mist combines the freshness of a splash of water with the sweetness of summer blossoms, for a faint scent that offers respite from the sweltering heat. Bear in mind that this is a body mist, therefore, do not expect the longevity or strength of a perfume. You may need to refresh this scent throughout the day or can layer it with other products from the range. On its own, I am still able to smell the faint notes after 4 hours but they are not enough to fill the room with fragrance as soon as you walk in.
Also, can we spare a moment to appreciate the fascinating packaging of this product, I would purchase it just to decorate my dressing table. The Body Shop has recently been revamping the packaging of all their products and the new packaging is sleeker and has accents of black that impart it a high-end appeal. The intricate black design of this bottle looks so alluring, just like the perfume it holds. A 100 ml bottle is priced at INR 1095, which is quite pricey, but once you smell the fragrance, you will fall in love with it. This gem is definitely going to be my scent for Summer 2017.
