LB Industries Haul – Exciting Goodies

So I recently received a bunch of goodies from LB Industries and today I will take you through all of them. LB Industries has been an established name in the timber industry and has recently ventured into the consumer goods market with its range of health and wellness products. So here is a breakdown of all the goodies that I received.

O Toilet Seat Sanitizer

1.  O Toilet Seat Sanitizer – Toilet sanitizers are an absolute travel essential, especially for women. The O Toilet Seat Sanitizer kills germs on toilet seats, bathroom handles etc within 10 seconds, making it a saviour for those who have to use public washrooms frequently. Also, it has a refreshing tea tree oil scent that I adore. This one is definitely going into my handbag. Priced at INR 110 for a 40 ml bottle.

Breathe Herbal Breath Freshener

2. Breathe Herbal Breath Freshener – Mouth freshening sprays have been in the market since quite some time but the Breathe Herbal Breath Freshener is unique because it is sugar and propellant-free and contains herbal ingredients such as peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, and cardamom oil. It tastes like a herbal toothpaste and does an excellent job at refreshing the breath. I received this in the peppermint and meswak variants, and I love them both. Priced at INR 90 for a 15gm spray bottle.

O Hand Sanitizer

3. O Hand Sanitizer – The O Hand Sanitizer really impressed me because this product does not dry out my hands like most of the other sanitizers that I have used in the past. It smells like a regular alcohol-based sanitizer but leaves the hands quite soft, which is great for someone like me who uses a hand sanitizer multiple times a day. Priced at INR 100 for 50 single use sachets.

 Ray Stevia Extract

4. Ray Stevia Extract – The Ray Stevia Extract contains 99.8% percent pure Stevia, a natural sweetener that contains almost zero calories per teaspoon. I haven’t used Stevia in the past but have heard many diet conscious people rave about it.  Of course, it is best to consult a physician before introducing something new in your diet, particularly if you are pregnant or suffering from ailments/allergies. Priced at INR 210 for 40 1gm sachets.

Ray Cooking Spray

5. Ray Cooking Spray – Cooking sprays are a low cal alternative to regular cooking oil because they provide the grease required for cooking with a smaller quantity of oil. One spray of the Ray Cooking Spray contains only 2 calories, making it an excellent choice for when you are preparing cutlets or similar fried snacks. Priced at INR 250 for a 200ml can.

I liked all the 4 flavors but the fruity bars are my personal favorites because I love their gooey texture. These bars are filling without being too heavy and scrumptious without being too sweet, as an added bonus, they are very low on trans fats too. I couldn’t ask for more from a nutrition bar. I am pretty sure that all the chips and cookies in my pantry will soon be replaced by these yummy bars!

How To Cope With Travel Sickness: My Journey

Travel sickness, motion sickness, whatever you may call it, it is a curse that takes away half the fun from wanderlust. If you have never experienced any kind of motion sickness whatsoever, whether on a Ferris wheel or on a drive up a hill, consider yourself extremely lucky. The rest of you, I feel your pain because I have suffered from many an arduous journey myself. Here are a few of the things I have learnt over the years about coping with travel sickness, hopefully, my fellow sufferers will find these tips useful too.

  1. Over The Counter Medication – If you suffer from extreme travel sickness then I would highly recommend asking a doctor for a prescription. Over the counter drugs work way better than natural remedies when the sickness gets out of hand. Make sure to go through the list of side effects and dosage instructions. If the medicine needs to be taken after a meal then make sure to eat before you take it, otherwise, it may have quite the opposite effect.Avomine Travel Sickness Drug Medicine

  2. Audio Books/ Music – No matter what you do, do not read a book or look at your cellphone during a long and winding journey. Sometimes, you may not even be comfortable talking to others when you have a queasy feeling in your stomach. Carry some good music or an audio book to keep you distracted and entertained. Do inform your co-travellers regarding your woes so that they don’t think you are being rude and help out if the need arises.
  3. Eat Some Chips – Believe it or not, if you have a long drive ahead, it may help to eat foods that absorb liquids, for example, potato chips or bread. Refrain from drinking too much water and definitely stay away from sodas, milkshakes and other dairy products. Pardon me for being gross, but the less slush in your tummy, the better. This will help in keeping your food down and will reduce the chances of you actually getting sick.
  4. Candies and Mints – If the lack of liquids makes you feel dehydrated then try sucking on some hard boiled sweets or mints to keep generating the saliva. If you have the stomach for it, then go for some candy with ginger extracts because the root is known to prevent sea sickness. You can go for lemon candy too, it is your day to forget your diet for a few hours and indulge in these unhealthy foods. At least there is some benefit of travel sickness!

  5. Always Carry A Bag – No matter how long the journey, always carry a bag to keep things under control. If you do not have a bag, you will worry throughout your journey about getting sick, and that is the last thing you should have on your mind. As hard as it may seem, think of something else, anything else. Sleeping helps some people but worsens the situation for others. Stay calm and breathe, this too shall pass!

    These are the tips that have helped me the most in my struggle with travel sickness. Hopefully, you will find these helpful too. Remember, the more you travel, the more your body gets used to fighting travel sickness. So, make sure that the fear of travel sickness does not turn into the fear of travelling!

How To Lose Weight By Sparing 4 Minutes Each Day!

If your excuse for not exercising is the lack of time then I have the perfect solution for you. Surely you can spare 4 minutes each day? That is all you need to adopt a healthy lifestyle, thanks to the power of HIIT workouts. High Intensity Interval Training claims to burn a large number of calories with just a few minutes of exercise. What is more, these workouts also increase the rate at which you burn calories for the next 10 hours. The big question is whether these claims are true or not.

I personally do not believe in counting calories, but ever since I started following Lucy Wyndham-Read’s HIIT workout videos on YouTube, I have seen a significant improvement in my health. I feel more energetic throughout the day and the perpetual back pain has completely disappeared! I have been working out daily and have reduced my refined sugar and oil intake since a month and a half. Not only are my muscles becoming visibly stronger, I have also lost 3 pounds of weight.

Most of the HIIT workouts do not need any special equipment and Lucy even demonstrates easier steps for beginners. Add a minute of warming up and another one for stretching after the workout, and you are done with your exercise for the day. I understand that everybody’s body and fitness levels are different but this simple regimen has worked so well for me that I had to put the word out there. I am not a trained fitness expert or professional, so please do your research on this subject before you decide to go for HIIT workouts. This is just my personal experience that I wanted to share with you folks!
