My Indian readers must have tasted drumsticks in their Sambhars or sabzis, but did you know that the drumstick plant called Moringa oleifera has a great significance in skincare too? The oil extracted from this plant, popularly known as Moringa Oil, is often referred to as a magical oil due to its trove of benefits for the skin. I have been testing out the Nature Sure Pores & Marks Oil, which is 100% pure and cold-pressed Moringa Oil, for some time now and here is how my experience has been with the product.
I have switched up my skincare quite a bit recently to adapt to the cold weather. An updated skincare routine post was therefore overdue! So here is how I am pampering my skin on winter mornings and nights to keep it soft and glowy until the summer sun shines again!
AM Skincare Routine –
My AM routine starts with washing my face with The Face Shop Dr. Belmeur’s Daily Repair Foam Cleanser. This face wash gently cleanses the skin without stripping it dry and is perfect for the cold and dry weather. I am usually in a massive rush in the mornings, so I skip toner (guilty!) and directly go in with my Magic Dust Vitamin E Face Serum which makes the skin super soft and hydrated without feeling heavy at all. I then go in with a generous layer of the Tvakh Triple Protection Sunscreen, a lightweight and hydrating sunscreen that is a staple for me throughout the year because it doubles up as a moisturizer too. For my under eye area, I use the Mama Earth Eye Cream because it is super hydrating and affordable. I slap on my Organic Harvest Happy Lips Lip Balm and I am done with my skincare! While applying my makeup, I am currently enjoying mixing some rosehip oil with my foundation because it prevents my makeup from clinging to the dry patches and provides a beautiful sheen to the face. Rosehip oil is a great facial oil for me because it somehow reduces my acne and hydrates the skin without making it greasy, therefore being a perfect final touch to my AM skincare.
PM Skincare Routine –
Evenings are when I tend to pamper my skin a little bit more because I have a little more time and because skincare helps get rid of the fatigue of the day. I remove my makeup with the Garnier Micellar Bi-Phase Water and then cleanse my face with the Dr. Belmeur Face Wash. I then use the Tvakh Vitamin C toner and apply my Magic Dust Serum. I then apply a very generous layer of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel and my Mama Earth Eye Cream and Organic Harvest lip balm and am ready for some much-needed sleep! On alternate days, I use the Vya Naturals Rose Water as toner and add the Dr. Sheths Daily Peel to my PM skincare regimen. On the days when my skin is suffering from breakouts, I add the Skin Salad Charcoal Mask to my PM regimen, and if my skin is feeling dehydrated then I use a Dear Packer Home Remedy Sheet Mask after my serum.
Overall, this skincare routine has been working fairly well for my skin at this point of time and these products are the ones that I can recommend without batting an eyelid. If you have acne-prone, combination but dehydrated skin like mine then you can try out this skincare routine and let me know how it works for you! I would love to hear your take on these products and your go-to skincare routine at the moment 🙂
If you are an avid stalker of celebrity skincare secrets then you must have heard of the benefits of Rosehip Seed Oil by now. This multi-tasking skincare ingredient is what you need in your life if you are on the wrong side of 25 and your skin is beginning to age. To find out what the hype over this oil was all about, I recently picked up the Ryaal Rosehip Seed Oil and here is how this product fared for me.
This 100% pure rosehip seed essential oil comes in the classic Ryaal packaging – a blue bottle with a dropper. The product itself is a golden oil with a nutty fragrance that is not too thick and sinks into the skin pretty quickly. It does leave behind a slightly oily cast on the skin but nothing too stark – you can pair it with a mattifying day cream or foundation during the day and use it as a part of your moisturising routine at night without looking like a grease ball (unless you have extremely oily skin to begin with).
Coming to the properties of the product, rosehip seed oil indeed does it all! It is rich in fatty acids, Vitamin A and Vitamin C and acts as a moisturiser as well as a toner. I have been using this oil as a part of my moisturising routine (post toning) and have noticed its exfoliating properties already. It has a noticeable peeling action and I could see that my dead skin was flaking off faster than usual while my pimples seemed to dry up more quickly. My skin also looked smoother than usual, which could be due to the fact that rosehip seed oil diminishes pores and plumps up the skin to prevent the appearance of wrinkles. I know that it sounds too good to be true, but if you religiously incorporate this facial oil in your skincare routine then I am sure that you will observe such positive results too.
Overall, I do not have anything negative to say about this product. It is quite affordable at INR 289 for a 15ml bottle that will last you for months if used in the right quantity. My skin has been behaving really well since I started using this oil and it is perhaps the most enjoyable part of my skincare routine at the moment. If you have been suffering from dry or dull skin and are looking for a multi-tasking solution then you must try out this gem of a product!
I have been using the Kama Ayurveda- Kumkumadi Miraculous Beauty Fluid – Ayurvedic Night Serum since a month and will be sharing my thoughts on this product with all of you today. Kumkumadi taila is extensively mentioned in Ayurveda for providing glowing and lustrous skin, which is why I was searching for authentic kumkumadi taila. I have tried kumkumadi taila from a few other brands before but was not satisfied. Then one of my friends recommended Kama Ayurveda products to me.
This beauty fluid is packed in a glass bottle with a dropper. The packaging is grand and will take you back to the vintage era. The price of a 12ml bottle is INR 2295 but I purchased it for an offer price of 1800 bucks. Once you open the bottle, the mild fragrance of the fluid enchants the room. The fluid is light orange in color and mildly greasy in texture. In the dry climate during the winters, it gets completely absorbed into the skin. However, if you have oily skin or live in a humid area then it’s better to avoid this product as it may make way for acne.
The skin tends to get dry in winter and we need to keep moisturizing it. We all know that oil is the best moisturizer but when it comes to the face we tend to worry about applying oil, due to the fear of acne. However, as I mentioned above, this serum is quite light-weight and does not clog the pores, making it perfect for those with dry skin. The base of this beauty fluid is sesame oil and the unique Ayurvedic formulation is prescribed for glowing and radiant skin. The ingredients of the fluid are also known to prevent mild bacterial infections. The ideal age for trying this product would be the late twenties and early thirties because the serum helps to preserve the youthfulness of the skin.
Overall, I’m satisfied with the Kumkumadi Miraculous Beauty Fluid and think that it lives up to its claims of nourishing dull and damaged skin. This fluid is perfect for the winter months as a moisturizer, as it gives a glow and hydration to the face. However, I would be happy if they dropped the price a little.
