Greenberry Organics Bio Active Bright Day Cream | First Impressions Style Review

I have been trying to pay more attention to my skincare over the past few months, which now involves using photo-sensitive ingredients on my skin. This is why I am literally slathering sunscreen on my face every single morning, and for those super hectic days when you don’t even have time to brush your hair, I reach for day creams that contain SPF to kill two birds with one stone. With the nip in the air making my skin flaky and dry, I need something rich, hydrating, yet non-greasy, and the Greenberry Organics Bio Active Bright Day Cream offers me exactly this and much more!

Greenberry Organics Bio Active Bright Day Cream | First Impressions Style Review

I have been eyeing both the day cream and the night cream from Greenberry Organics since the time they were launched by the brand but was waiting to finish up the creams I had with me already before adding these to my cart. Somehow the stars aligned themselves and as soon as I was about to finish my current day cream, Greenberry Organics kindly sent me across these products! I have been using this day cream for about a week now so this will be a first impressions style review because I wanted to speak about the product before winter reached its peak. So here are my thoughts on this lovely day cream.

Greenberry Organics Bio Active Bright Day Cream | First Impressions Style Review

This cream comes in a sturdy jar with a leakproof insert inside the screw on lid which makes the product travel-friendly. The formula has a thick, creamy consistency, quite similar to that of a cold cream, but sinks into the skin really well and does not leave the face greasy at all. Bear in mind that this is a very rich cream, so you do not want to go in with a large dollop of product – a little goes a long way and too much cream may look streaky and white on the face. Just dip your finger into the tub and dot that much cream all over your face and gently massage it in to get supple and soft skin that looks radiant. The cream contains saffron extracts that always help to add a glow and brightness to my face and it also contains aloe vera and olive oil that provide the right amount of nourishment without clogging the pores. I feel that this cream is one of the most nourishing day creams that I have ever used without being too heavy on my skin, something that will work well for all skin types but particularly for dry to normal skin. The presence of SPF 25+ is the cherry on top of the cake because even if I don’t have the time to layer on my products, I can step out of the house without worrying about sun damage.

Overall, I do not see any cons of purchasing this product other than the fact that some people may find the tub packaging unhygienic. However, I don’t see how such a thick product could be packaged if not in a tub – just keep your hands clean while touching your face and you will be fine. I love the pleasant fragrance of the cream and its comforting texture that takes me back to my childhood days of using a cold cream throughout the colder months. Fortunately, this product is not as greasy as the cold creams from back in the day and is also all-natural and free of parabens and mineral oil. Just like the other skincare products from the brand, this day cream has managed to fully impress me. The cream is priced at INR 575 for a 50gm tub but is currently available at INR 500 on Amazon. Grab it now if you are someone who is lazy with their skincare and suffers from parched skin during the winter months.

Biotique Bio Saffron Dew Youthful Nourishing Day Cream | Review

I usually talk a lot about products that are suitable for oily skin because that is my skin type but today I will talk about a product that works really well for normal to dry skin. The product in question is the Biotique Bio Saffron Dew – Youthful Nourishing Day Cream. This product contains Saffron or Kesar and turmeric extracts that are known to provide a glow to the skin. It also contains almond and pistachio oils that are extremely nourishing and hydrating.

Biotique Bio Saffron Dew Review

Texturewise, it is slightly thick but melts on the skin and gets absorbed really quickly. It is pretty light weight despite containing nourishing oils and leaves just a thin film of oil on the skin, which feels smooth and rich, not greasy and shiny. The cream claims to be suitable for all skin types but I would not recommend it for oily skinned people because the almond oil may be a bit too heavy if you already secrete too much sebum. For those with dry or normal skin though, this cream works really well and leaves the skin super soft, supple, and youthful. As an added bonus, it has the pleasant scent of saffron and sandalwood that gives it a luxurious feel.

If you are in the market for a day cream that is nourishing but not overly greasy then the Biotique Bio Saffron Dew might be the perfect product for you. A gigantic 175gm jar is priced at INR 480 which is quite affordable considering that the cream contains natural ingredients including saffron. With the cold weather slowly creeping nearer, this cream will provide the much-needed hydration and glow to your skin and will make it baby soft!

I hope that this review was helpful. You can buy the Biotique Bio Saffron Dew here.

VLCC Depigmentation Day Cream Review

As hard as it may sound to moisturize each day, particularly during the hot summer months, it is essential for healthy, glowing skin. What is even more essential is a high enough SPF to protect your face from the summer sun. Lazy me likes to combine both the steps and I always prefer day creams that have an SPF. I recently tried out the VLCC Depigmentation Day Cream and here are my thoughts about it.

This day cream lies somewhere between a creamy and thick consistency. A small amount is sufficient for the whole face and you will need to massage it in to prevent a white cast. Once absorbed by the skin, it leaves the face feeling supple and hydrated the entire day. I am not too sure about its depigmentation qualities but it does brighten the skin with regular usage.

The formula has SPF 25, which is quite high for a day cream and eliminates the need for a sunscreen if you are exposed to direct sunlight only for a few minutes each day. It also contains some great ingredients such as mulberry extract, turmeric, and glycolic acid, which are known to work wonders for troubled skin. The cream has quite a strong, sweet smell that might bother some people but I am pretty fine with it.

A 50 gm tub of this cream is priced at INR 405, which is quite reasonable as this tub lasted me for a really long time. The packaging is also very unique and looks cute stacked up with the other products from the range. Overall, I would say that this is a good cream for those with dry to combination skin, as it might be a little too greasy for oily skin types. It evens out the skin tone quite well without being harsh on the delicate skin of the face. A great day cream for the summer months!
