Online shopping is a boon for us ladies because it has made the latest fashion trends accessible to us from the comfort of our couches! I am definitely someone who detests standing in long queues outside the trial rooms of offline stores and rummaging the entire mall for that one perfect dress. This is why I am always excited to discover new online shopping platforms that make browsing through hundreds of styles a matter of minutes. Berrylook.com is one such website where you can find trendy and versatile womens clothing online, without having to break the bank. Here are some of my top picks from the website, which are currently on my wishlist.
Have you ever scoured the internet for a gift that seems custom made for a book lover? T-shirts that speak of their favourite books or accessories that make the experience of reading or writing even more enjoyable? If so then literarybookgifts.com is a blessing for you because they provide gifts that will speak to every writer and avid reader out there. The brand kindly sent me their Cashmere Writing Gloves to review, and here are my thoughts on these beauties that arrived at the perfect time – right when the cool monsoon winds engulfed my town.
Handbags are some of the most fruitful fashion investments in my opinion and when I truly want to pamper myself I treat myself to one! However, choosing a handbag can be quite a struggle if you want to keep up with all the latest handbag trends without burning a hole in your pocket. I recently came across Baginning.com, an online store for handbags of all kinds, and this website seems like the perfect solution to the “to buy or not to buy” handbag dilemma because they offer trendy handbag designs at extremely affordable prices! Read on to find out more!

As some of you might already know, I am a huge fan of Ajio.com, and I have been recently picking up a number of kurtas from the website. Here are some of my top ethnic picks from Ajio at the moment, so go check them out quickly before they run out of stock!
A beautiful flowy green kurti that can be styled both as an Indian or a western piece.
The print of this A-line kurta is definitely giving me the Poojo vibes, which are appropriate for the festive season ahead!
Another white kurta with a unique traditional print. It is available in a powder blue shade too!
This beautiful angrakha kurta in a very unique colour is droolworthy!
If you like off-beat styles then this checked tunic style kurta will definitely float your boat!
Will you be picking up any of these kurtas to sport some unique ethnic looks this season? Let me know in the comments below 🙂
I am usually wary of buying clothes from new online brands because of my worries regarding the sizing and the quality of the clothes. However, when the lovely folks from Oomph In My Closet approached me, I couldn’t resist saying yes to their trendy kurtis that are definitely fashion forward and unique at the same time. I have realised over the years that the pieces of clothing that I really love and re-use the most are the ones that are not the standard styles that are “in” at the moment but a different take on them, and the kurtis from Oomph fit this description perfectly!
I loved the fabric of these kurtis because it is light weight and smooth – aka perfect for the summers. I am a size XS in the brand and this is a comfortable fit for me, which I prefer as opposed to body hugging kurtis, especially in the sultry weather. I love the fact that the brand combines unique colours, patterns, and prints with latest trends such as tassels and ties, to create offbeat designs that are not cheap replicas of designer wear.
Pricewise, these kurtis are quite affordable, with most designs being priced at INR 700-800 on Flipkart. This is a great price because the popular brands provide kurtis of similar quality at around INR 1200. So this brand definitely gets a big thumbs up from me and I am already eyeing more pieces from their range.
Disclaimer: PR samples sent by the brand but all opinions are honest and my own.
Black is hands-down the most flattering colour for all body types and skin tones, however, styling black outfits in the summer months can be tricky, especially during the day. Nevertheless, this does not make me ditch my black ensembles on warm days because I know that they are some of the best pieces in my wardrobe. Here is how I recently styled a black dress for a summer brunch, to make sure that I don’t look completely out of place and inappropriately dressed for the weather.
To keep things easy and breezy, I went for a black dress with a looser silhouette and floral cutouts from Shein.com. This loose-fitting style is definitely more weather appropriate than say a bodycon dress in a dark colour. I also didn’t want to sport an all black, wintery look, so I added a splash of colour with a beautiful tassel necklace from Ajio.com and a pair of matching blue earrings. I also sported a bright fuchsia lip that definitely shouts spring.
I would have loved to pair some colourful pom-pom sandals with the outfit but since I don’t own any, I went with the golden flats from Ajio.com which are also quite summer-appropriate. Flats add a casual vibe to the dress, which would look quite formal with heels, and the gold definitely adds a fun element to the outfit.
Overall, I was super happy with the final look and would definitely sport it again on a sunny day. Are you someone who loves their black dresses all year round? Leave me a high five in the comments if you are!

Does it ever happen to you that you spot an amazing pair of shoes on the runway or in a movie but are unable to find a similar design in any of the stores or online shopping portals that you frequent? This has definitely happened to me on more than one occasion when the shoes of my dreams remain just that and I never get to sport them in reality. However, I recently came across FSJ Shoes (fsjshoes.com), an international shoe brand that has a fascinating collection of well-made shoes catering to all the latest and timeless trends. They have a huge collection of beautifully designed shoes that range from sexy high heels to comfortable flats in all the colours one can imagine. Here are some of my favourite shoes from their website that are currently topping my summer shoe wishlist and are making me drool!
Gladiator sandals ruled the roost of shoe fashion in 2017 and they are definitely here to stay in 2018 as well. With bolder designs such as thigh-high gladiators adding an oomph factor to this footwear trend, my eyes are currently set on all gladiators, heeled or flat, calf-high or barely brushing the ankles – I want them all. Following are my favourite picks from FSJ Shoes.
1. Black Stiletto Heels Strappy Knee High Gladiator Sandals
Unlike most gladiator shoes that have thin straps, these black gladiator sandals have thicker straps running up to the mid-calves which make them unique. This pair would certainly be a head turner when paired with a floaty dress.
2. Gold Metallic Heels Open Toe Stiletto Heel Gladiator Sandals
Nothing spells sophistication like a pair of delicate gold stilettoes and these gorgeous gold gladiator sandals check all the right boxes for me. I can already envision myself pairing these with a royal blue dress for an evening out with friends.
3. Royal Blue Heels Suede Stilettos Gladiator Sandals
This striking blue gladiator shoe can add a pop of colour to any monochrome outfit and is also perfect for colour blocking with a bright yellow dress. An excellent choice for when you want to stand out in a crowd.
4. Brown Gladiator Sandals Knee-high Platform High Heels
Brown is a classic shoe colour and brown gladiator sandals look amazing with an all-white ensemble. This pair will look extremely flattering on anyone and can easily transition from day to night.
5. Grey Strappy Gladiator Sandals Suede Knee-high Lace-up Flats
On the days when you simply can’t bother with heels, this unique pair of grey gladiator flats will allow you to feel super stylish and comfy at the same time. A pair of denim shorts and a loose white shirt with these sandals is a practical yet chic look for the summer.
Not only are these wonderful designs from FSJ Shoes completely lust-worthy, the website also ships internationally, so you can easily get the best of global trends at your doorstep when you order a pair. I will definitely be investing in a number of shoes from this wishlist because FSJ Shoes provide runway designs at a fraction of the price. Which is your favourite pair from my list? Let me know in the comments below!

Despite the world becoming more and more tech-savvy with every passing minute, so much so that even toddlers have their own iPads these days, many of us are still wary of online shopping. Being suspicious of these websites is justified too, many of them are in fact fraudulent, and deliver products of poor quality or often do not deliver anything at all in return for your hard-earned money. For a person like me, however, online shopping is a blessing, because running from store to store is too time-consuming and tiring for me. Here are some of the websites that I fall back on every time I have the urge to spend some money, and they usually do not disappoint.
1. Ajio.com – My go-to online destination for all my fashion needs – from jeans to footwear and amazing ethnic wear too. Ajio’s own designs are some of the most unique I have seen on the internet and their curation of clothes from other brands is also top-notch. If you are tired of seeing the same designs on every online shopping portal then ajio.com is the breath of fresh air that you need. They deliver to my location within 2 days and have a very easy breezy return policy too.
2. Amazon Prime – If it is basic stuff that you need, be it household supplies or shampoo, Amazon is my pick for you. Go for an Amazon Prime membership if you are a frequent online shopper, the free shipping and the next day delivery is totally worth it. Stick to sellers with a high rating and try to opt only for the items from the prime category and you will be sorted.
3. Nykaa.com – While I have heard many people complain that Nykaa delivers expired or fake products and has horrible customer service, I have personally never faced any such issues with them. I love Nykaa because they have the hugest collection of makeup and skincare items on one website in India and exclusively sell many international brands. If you have been away from Nykaa due to all the negative reviews you have heard about them, give them one shot and then decide for yourself because my experience has been pretty good.
So these were my go-to websites for when I am feeling spendy. Do let me know what your favourite websites are for online shopping and also let me know what your experience has been with my favourites. Keeping it short because I am sure that you want to indulge in some retail therapy now 😛 Toodles!
P.S. – Special mention to Shein.in, which is my recent favourite for affordable western wear and cutesie night clothes.
So Valentine’s Day came and went by and I did not post a Valentine’s Day look. This was because I was busy adulting on the actual day, however, the hubby and I did manage to sneak in a V-day date the weekend after, and here is what I wore to our better-late-than-never-Valentine’s date.
Since the weather is still fluctuating between chilly and warm, I chose to wear this pink knitted swing dress from Shein.in (purchase link). I chose the size XS, which was a little loose for me, I belted it in the picture for a better fitting, but it can be worn without a belt for a casual day out when you prefer a comfier outfit.
I kept the makeup simple because I was heading out during the day. Keeping with the Valentine’s theme, I went for a soft pink look. On my lips I wore the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade Zurich, and on my eyes I used the frosty pink Browbone shade from the Wet n Wild Petal Pusher Palette. I deepened the crease with the bronzer shade from the Makeup Revolution Protection Palette in the shade Medium and added a thin wing and mascara, and voila, I was done. I did not use a foundation and just dabbed some Maybelline Fit Me Concealer on my spots and under eye area because I wanted my skin to breathe. I was quite happy with the finished look for the daytime, and would definitely wear the look again for a Sunday brunch.
I hope that you liked this simple look for an easy breezy day out. This is perfect for when you do not want to wear a full face of makeup but don’t want to head out sans makeup either. What is your go-to look for an afternoon outing? What did you do for V-day? Let me know in the comments below!
I usually tend to throw away my tarnished artificial jewelry because cleaning it is too much effort for the price of the actual item, however, this choker necklace I purchased from Shein.com tarnished so quickly and was so perfect for my style that I decided to give some DIY tips a shot.
So I used a trick I found on YouTube which is so simple yet so effective! I took a bit of toothpaste (I used Glister toothpaste from Amway but I think you can use any white toothpaste) and rubbed it vigorously throughout the length of the necklace – you can use a brush or your fingers for this step. Then I rinsed the necklace with plain water and patted it try. Although the polish of the necklace is still not as bright as it was when it was brand new, most of the dark discoloration has vanished and I can definitely use this necklace again.
So here is the final result-
I’m not sure if the picture does justice to the final outcome but most of the dullness and dark deposit is completely gone! So if you have some tarnished jewelry in your stash that you are not willing to part with, do give it a good rub with some good old toothpaste!
I started this blog almost a year ago but my love for makeup goes way beyond that. I was the kid who secretly retouched her lipstick after a school performance was over and the bride who silently missed her falsies once the wedding festivities gave way to the daily grind. Between the two phases, I was the teenager with blemished skin, whose peers were as prejudiced as you would expect kids that age to be at recognising the beauty that lies beneath the temporary curtain of pimples. This is how I was introduced to the world of foundations and concealers when I started attending college.
For the longest time, I believed that most skincare products were either ineffective or way beyond my budget. This skewed perception was perhaps caused by poor experiences with certain anti-acne drugstore products as a young kid who didn’t know her salicylic acid from her benzoyl peroxide, and also by the impatience I developed over the years that caused me to reject a lot of products if they didn’t show visible results within a week or so.
When I started blogging, it was primarily to share what I had learnt about makeup and skincare over the years with whoever cared to listen, but in the process, I also stumbled upon great bloggers who offered amazing product recommendations and some lesser known skincare brands who were just starting out but their products were way more effective than the big names in the industry. Thus began a tryst with skincare that made me fall in love with the lotions and potions, the exfoliating acids and soothing gels that actually started to improve the texture of my skin with time. After around 6 months or so, I reached a point where I was completely comfortable stepping out of the house sans makeup, a first for me in my adult life.
It was not just the efficacy of these new skincare products that I discovered but also the newfound patience that came with age, and the fact that I actually starting enjoying my 5 step skincare routine that enabled me to step out of the house without a drop of foundation on my face. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my makeup, but it is now more of a choice and a creative outlet than a daily chore or a self-imposed obligation.
I am extremely grateful for the messages I receive on Instagram asking for product recommendations. Some of these kind followers are brides to be while others are those in their late 20’s who are looking for ways to fight those fine lines. Most of the inquiries that I get are for skincare products, not for that perfect lipstick shade or the best foundation. This means that at the end of the day, almost everybody wants to enhance and celebrate their natural beauty. Makeup does add a special touch for certain occasions by providing a hint of sparkle and a dash of colour but will never look as good if you do not take care of your skin. This is the biggest lesson I have learnt in my one year as a beauty blogger and this is the message that I wish to propagate among all the girls who are struggling to meet the so-called “standards of beauty”.
At the end of the day, I know that I may never get rid of those dark circles completely or may never have perfectly flawless skin, but what the lovely women of substance I follow on WordPress and Instagram have taught me is that I am still beautiful, with or without makeup, and so are you!
