We live in an era of multi-tasking, and demand multiple benefits from our skincare products too. When it comes to a moisturiser, we want it to provide additional benefits to the skin, such as brightening, blemish removal or acne control. If however, you are looking for an old-school, no-nonsense moisturiser that is gentle and hydrating, the Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion fits the bill. Here is my full review of the product.
The Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion comes in a simple tube which has the vibe of pharmaceutical skincare with its blue, green and white colours. It comes in a 30gm variant as well as a 100gm variant, and a 30gm tube is priced at INR 300, which is neither too expensive nor too cheap. The packaging is simple but functional, just like the actual product.
The brand claims that this product provides 24-hour moisturization, and is non-comedogenic, non-greasy, hypoallergenic and non-irritating. The formula does not contain any fragrance and is quite light-weight. The ingredient list features a bunch of hydrating products, such as shea butter, macadamia nut oil and fatty alcohols. This lotion has a creamy consistency and is not thick or greasy at all. It feels a little slippery on the skin for a few minutes after application, but once it sinks into the skin you can’t really feel it on your face.
My Verdict on the Cetaphil Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion
The formula of the lotion is fairly moisturizing, and should be suitable for those with slightly dry to normal skin. I feel that those with very dry skin would require some more hydration and those with oily skin may not appreciate the initial slipperiness of this product and the fact that it is not mattifying. As I mentioned before, it is a nice moisturiser but doesn’t do much else for the skin in terms of brightening or oil control. Hence, if you are someone who has very sensitive skin and is simply looking for something hydrating then you might enjoy this moisturiser, otherwise you will have to layer it up with your serums and essences to get more out of your skincare routine. I also feel that this is a good moisturiser for men, who are usually looking for simpler, fuss-free products. So if you are in the market for a gentle, basic moisturiser then do check this one out.
