Shesha Naturals Dhanwantaram Thailam & Nalpamaradi Thailam | Review

Shesha Naturals is a home grown brand that has introduced a beautiful range of ayurvedic and natural skincare and haircare in the Indian market. I am already a fan of their shampoo, soap, and virgin coconut oil and was therefore thrilled to know of the launch of their new ayurvedic oils. The brand kindly sent me two of the newly launched oils – the Shesha Naturals Nalpamaradi Thailam and the Dhanwantaram Thailam to try out, and here is my review of these products for all of you.

Shesha Naturals Dhanwantaram Thailam

The Shesha Naturals Dhanwantaram Thailam is a pre and post natal massage oil that claims to relieve muscle pain, boost immunity and reduce the appearance of stretch marks. Although I do not have any pregnant member in the family to test this on, I have been using it as a massage oil to help with my muscle aches and it works well at reducing the aches and pains that I experience from time to time.

This oil looks reddish golden in the bottle but does not stain the skin. It has a very nutty scent and produces a slightly warm sensation when applied to the skin. The ingredient list is long and contains a wide variety of medicinal herbs, but a quick google search will show you that most of these ingredients have proven efficacy at improving muscle strength, curing certain ailments or reducing pain. This oil is indeed effective at reducing the soreness of muscles at the end of the day. I apply it 20-30 minutes before my evening bath and feel rejuvenated and relaxed afterwards. I am sure it will really help out new mums and mums to be who are struggling with sore muscles and body aches.

Shesha Naturals Nalpamaradi Thailam

The Shesha Naturals Nalpamaradi Thailam is a skin brightening oil that claims to reduce pigmentation and tanning. This oil looks a greenish-yellow in the bottle and has a leafy scent to it. This oil contains turmeric as its key brightening ingredient along with a bunch of other natural ingredients that have been proven to help with different skin disorders and dryness. Since it contains turmeric, the oil does stain the skin and any clothing it touches yellow, so you have to be careful while you have it on. As with Dhanwantari Tailam, this oil too needs to be applied to the body 20 to 30 minutes before a warm bath.

Regular use of this oil does help in brightening the skin and also helps to remove a tan. Since it is a natural product, you may not see results overnight but in a week or so you will definitely notice that your skin looks brighter and your skin tone looks more even. It also hydrates the skin quite well and leaves it soft and supple after a shower, making it ideal for the upcoming winter months.

Both these oils come in 200ml bottles priced at INR 599 each, which I feel is a good investment considering that each bottle will last you for months. If you are in the market for pure body oils that tackle the specific concerns listed above then Shesha Naturals is your best bet. I will highly recommend everything from this brand because of the excellent quality of the ingredients. Have you ever tried any products from Shesha Naturals?
