Organic Harvest Sunscreen with SPF 30 | Review

Sunscreen is as much of a staple for me as a toothpaste, and I pick one up whenever there is a sale online. I recently saw a good deal on the Organic Harvest Sunscreen with SPF 30 on Vanity Wagon and decided to try it out.ย  This product claims to be suitable for oily and acne-prone skin and contains organic ingredients. Without further ado, here is my review of the Organic Harvest Sunscreen after trying this product out for a few weeks.

The Packaging

The Organic Harvest Sunscreen with SPF 30 is a paraben-free and mineral oil-free product that does not contain any animal-derived ingredients. It comes in a cute green and white bottle with a pump dispenser that has a locking mechanism to prevent leakage. Despite the locking mechanism, I still wish that the bottle came with a cap so that the dispenser wouldn’t attract dust if placed outside the cardboard box, other than that, the packaging is quite sturdy and travel-friendly.

The Texture

Coming to the formula of the product, this sunscreen has a very thin lotion-like consistency and absorbs into the skin quickly. The product feels very light on the face but does not set to a completely matte finish and leaves a slight sheen on the face which I personally do not mind. It leaves the skin feeling hydrated but not greasy, but it does have a slight slip on the skin, which those with extremely oily skin may have an issue with. Another plus is that the sunscreen does not leave a white cast on the skin. The lotion does not seem to have any added fragrance and has a natural and subdued nutty fragrance to it.

The Ingredients

The description on the packaging says that the product has a slight tint which gives a makeup-like finish but I do not see any tint at all. Also, the full ingredient list is not mentioned on the packaging, which is a bummer. The brand has mentioned that the product contains Olive oil and clay minerals in a cream base, but it would have been nice to have the full ingredient list on the box. From the brand’s website, I found that the product contains Zinc Oxide and is essentially a mineral sunscreen and would therefore be suitable for those with sensitive skin.

My Final Verdict on the Organic Harvest Sunscreen

A 50gm bottle of this sunscreen is priced at INR 495, and I would say that the product offers decent value for money. It is a good light-weight sunscreen for slightly dry to combination skin and will be great for those who do not like thicker sunscreens that give a white cast. If you are someone with really oily skin though, you may want to opt for a more mattifying option. The brand also seems to have come up with newer variants of sunscreens with SPF 30 and 60 (in tubes) that are catered for different skin types, so you may want to take a look at those as well. I will personally be using this one up as my winter sunscreen in the upcoming months and will look for a more mattifying sunscreen thereafter.
