There are two kinds of people in the world, those who are fussy about their nail paint removers and those who are fine with any nail paint remover that they can get their hands on. I belong to the former category, and as much as I love my nail paints, I like the nail polish application process to be as quick as possible. This is why I love quick-drying nail polishes as well as fast-acting nail polish removers that remove my previous nail paint in one swipe. I recently picked up the Nykaa Dual Tone Nail Enamel Remover on a whim, and as you can see in the pictures, I have almost emptied the bottle. Read on to find out my thoughts on this product and whether it lives up to my high expectations from nail paint removers!
Even though you cannot see it in the pictures because I have used up most of the product, the Nykaa Dual Tone Nail Enamel Remover is a bi-phased nail polish remover, with distinct layers of oil and water-based solutions which are pink and blue in colour. This product looks quite pretty in the bottle and is acetone-free. It claims to remove nail paint in one swipe without drying out your nails or cuticles.
While I do agree with the second part of the claim that this product is not drying, I wouldn’t say that it removes all nail paints effortlessly. It removes a thin coat of polish in one go but requires a heavier hand, multiple swipes, and more product to get rid of certain polishes that are thicker or have glitter in them. I feel that the Lakme Nail Polish Remover and the Faces Canada Nail Polish Remover are much quicker when it comes to removing most nail polish formulas. I do however like that this product contains an oil component that hydrates my cuticles while I remove my polish. This is why I particularly like using it with a q-tip for cleaning up any excess polish around my nails after fresh application.
A 30ml bottle of the Nykaa Dual Tone Nail Enamel Remover is priced at INR 99, which is an ok price for the quality of the product. If you are someone who suffers from dry skin around your nails then this nail polish remover might help nourish the area, but do not buy it if you are super impatient while removing your nail paint and need the job to be done in a jiffy!
