Nivea Milk Delights Face Wash | Precious Saffron | Review

A face wash is probably one of the most used skincare products by women across the world, and perhaps one of the first skincare products that teenaged girls start using. This is why a decent affordable face wash is a blessing for students as well as women on a budget. The Nivea Milk Delights Face Washes are a range of affordable face washes that cater to different skin types by the inclusion of different home remedy ingredients in their formulation. Read on to find out my thoughts on the Nivea Milk Delights Face Wash in the Precious Saffron variant.

The packaging of the Nivea Milk Delights Face Washes is universally loved and with good reason. What is there not to like about this cute teardrop-shaped bottle? Also, the variant is clearly mentioned on the packaging and all the ingredients are listed at the back. I have already reviewed the Moisturizing Honey variant from this range on the blog and have dissected its ingredients for you. That one worked well for my combination skin and cleansed it nicely without drying it out. Today I will be talking about the Precious Saffron variant that is meant for normal skin and claims to cleanse and soothe the skin without stripping it dry.

Just like the Moisturizing Honey Face Wash, the Precious Saffron Face Wash has a milky consistency but the scent is more soothing and reminds me of sandalwood. The saffron variant has tiny orange specks running through the formula, which probably contain the saffron extracts. Coming to the formula of the product, it does contain sulphates, parabens and perfume in the ingredient list along with the good ingredients such as milk extracts and saffron extracts. The products lathers well on the face, and cleanses the skin thoroughly, leaving it matte but not stretched out or dry. It leaves a subtle glow on the face and helps to calm down irritated skin. Therefore, it does live up to its claims and provides the soothing benefits of saffron and the glow-enhancing benefits of milk. However, due to the presence of sulphates in the formula, it can be a bit drying, hence I will recommend the Precious Saffron variant for those with oily skin and the Moisturizing Honey variant for those with normal to combination skin. Those with extremely oily skin can opt for the Fine Gramflour variant, which leaves the skin ultra-matte.

While the ingredient list does feature sulphates and parabens, I personally do not mind parabens in a face wash (read this to find out why link1, link2) and you will not experience the drying effects of SLS if you pick the right variant for your skin type as I have recommended above. Also, the effects of the home remedy ingredients do shine through and the Precious Saffron variant manages to add a glow to my skin while soothing it. Another important pro of this face wash is that its pH lies between 6 and 7 (refer images below) and therefore it will not damage the skin’s acid mantle which is adversely affected by soap bars which have pH > 7.

Overall, I will say that the Nivea Milk Delights Face Wash is a good affordable option for those who do not have overly sensitive skin and do not wish to break the bank for a face wash. Priced at INR 165 for a huge 100ml bottle, this is one of the most affordable face cleansers out there. Have you tried any of the variants of this face wash? Let me know how they fared for you in the comments below!
