Vilvah is an Indian skincare and haircare brand that I have heard rave reviews about from every blogger that has tried them. However, somehow I never got around to trying anything from the brand because I always have something in my stash that needs to be finished up first. When they came out with their Honey Fix Face Cleanser recently though, I finally decided to pick it up because face wash is one skincare item that I get through like nobody’s business. Here are my thoughts on this cruelty-free face cleanser after using it for a couple of weeks.
Speaking about the packaging first, the Vilvah Honey Fix Face Cleanser comes in a unique metallic bottle with a plastic pump and a transparent lid. The packaging stands out from that of any other face wash and has the pictures of some of the ingredients, such as honey, papaya and blackberry on the front. You get 100ml of product for INR 440, which is a pretty decent price for the quality of ingredients that the formula contains.
Coming to the formula, this face wash has a liquidy gel consistency and looks like pale honey. It also has a sweet herbal scent that resembles honey quite a bit. The formula contains 8% raw forest honey, which is a powerhouse of antioxidants and works really well for acne-prone skin. It also contains witch hazel and aloe extracts that help to soothe irritated skin and natural sources of vitamin C and A such as blackberry and orange extracts as well as papaya extracts respectively. The formula does not contain any synthetic fragrance, parabens, silicones, sulfates or mineral oil and should be suitable for sensitive skin in my opinion.
The face wash provides a decent amount of lather and I need 2-3 pumps to cleanse my face and neck thoroughly. It leaves the skin looking non-greasy and bright from the very first use. It also helps in calming down any active breakouts and it seems to have played a role in lightening some spots on my face in conjunction with the rest of the products in my skincare routine. This face wash is more suitable for those with normal to oily skin, because it does leave the skin a tad bit dry. It feels quite gentle on my face otherwise and does not cause any redness or irritation on my skin.
Overall, I feel that the regular use of this face wash can really help with keeping those breakouts at bay and clearing up acne-prone skin while adding a glow to the face. It is leaning towards the expensive side but I feel that this product is worth the investment if you have been suffering from frequent breakouts. Have you tried any products from Vilvah yet?
