Nivea Milk Delights Face Wash | Moisturizing Honey | Review

The Nivea Milk Delights Face Washes were recently launched by the brand with much pomp and show aka advertising campaigns. This range of face washes addresses a variety of different skin types and claims to combine the goodness of milk with other age-old natural skin-loving ingredients. I was curious to find out what the buzz was all about and thought that some of you might be interested in a review because these face washes are fairly affordable yet claim to have a bunch of benefits. Read on to find out my thoughts on the Nivea Milk Delights Face Wash in the Moisturizing Honey variant which is meant for dry skin.

I picked up the face wash in the Moisturizing Honey variant meant for dry skin because even though I have combination skin, I have been noticing a number of dry patches on my face lately and since this is a foaming face wash, I did not want to risk the chance of it drying my skin out. Just like all the other face washes from the Nivea Milk Delight Range, this one comes in a cute drop shaped packaging which stands out from the packaging of most face washes. It has a blue flip lid which is quite sturdy but the face wash itself is quite liquidy so be careful while opening for the first time if the bottle has been lying around flat before use.

As I mentioned above, the formula is quite liquidy and contains a few tiny granules which are not abrasive and do not exfoliate the skin at all. It contains sulfates and parabens as well as fragrance. In fact, the fragrance is quite sickening sweet and those with sensitive noses (And skin) may not like this about the product. It also contains glycerin, as well as sorbitol and mannitol, which are what the brand is referring to as honey extracts. Sorbitol and Mannitol are naturally occurring sugar alcohols which are often used in skincare as moisturizers. The ingredient list also contains Sine Adipe Lac, which is a form of dry milk, but this is definitely not one of the top ingredients in the list, meaning that its concentration in the formula is not among the highest.

So basically, as expected, the formula is not as pure and natural as the advertisements may make you assume, however the product does live up to its claims of cleansing the skin without drying it out. This face wash does not make my skin feel stretched out post use and leaves it feeling moist and supple. It also feels quite gentle on the skin and does not cause any irritation or redness on my face.

Overall, if you are looking for an affordable, gentle face wash and are not turned off by parabens, sulfates, or perfume in your face washes then you can go ahead and try out this product. For the price (INR 85 for 50ml), it does perform well at removing oil and dirt in a gentle manner without stripping the natural oils of the face. However, if you were expecting this to be an all natural face wash filled with just the goodness of milk and honey then this one won’t live up to your expectations.
