Colourpop Supernova Shadow | Moonlit | Review

I recently received the Colourpop Supernova Shadow in the shade Moonlit as a giveaway prize from KittyP0p, and couldn’t have been happier at the inclusion of this product in the giveaway because getting Colourpop products shipped to India is a pain even though I love the brand so much! Even though the shade Moonlit doesn’t seem to available on the Colourpop website at the moment, I thought that I will review the formula of the shadow in case you wish to pick any other shade from the range. Read on to find out my thoughts on the product.

The Colourpop Supernova Shadows are basically liquid metallic eyeshadows with beautiful duo-chrome glitter in them. These eyeshadows come in a packaging similar to that of a lip gloss, with a doe foot applicator. The liquid glides beautifully on the lids and sets within seconds to an opaque metallic finish with glitter running through it. The formula sets really quickly so you do not get a lot of time to blend it out, but I would recommend wearing it all over the lid anyway, which won’t require precise blending. I personally did not experience a lot of glitter fallout with the shadow but I will recommend using a primer to ensure zero fallout. Also, I will recommend using a cream shadow in a similar shade as a base to ensure full opacity and to maximize the pigmentation on your lids. Also, bear in mind that this formula is not waterproof and gets washed off with water in a jiffy.

The shade Moonlit is has a beautiful purplish-burgundy metallic base with purple-silver glitter running through it. It looks warmer toned in certain lights and cooler toned in others and the glitter adds to the stunning duo-chrome effect. This is definitely not an eyeshadow for daily wear but will make for a fuss-free but spectacular eye look on a special occasion. Also, it will suit all Indian skin tones and would look beautiful with Indian ethnic wear as well. I could not find this shade on the brand’s website but the shade LOML and Firecracker seem quite similar to this one with slightly different undertones.

One tube of the Supernova Shadows is priced at $7.50, which is quite affordable considering that it will last you a really long time. So, if you are someone who likes metallic eyeshadows and also likes glitter, then these liquid shadows are tailormade for you. Do pick them up from the Colourpop website during their free worldwide shipping sale or ask a friend abroad to send one over asap!
