I haven’t reviewed an eyeliner here for a while now, and the reason is that I don’t like to open too many eyeliners at a time lest they dry out before I can use them up. If you are new to this blog then let me tell you that I am a fan of matte black eyeliners that stay on all day and am constantly on the hunt for new ones. This quest recently lead me to the Sugar Cosmetics I Warned You So Double Matte Eye Liner, and here is a review of this product for all of you.
The I Warned You So Eyeliner comes in a black tube with a screw on lid that has a super fine felt tip applicator. I like that this product is not in the form of a felt tip pen because those tend to dry up faster, especially if it is a matte formulation (I have heard from people that this one dries up fairly fast too but I feel that if you will use it daily and will keep the lid screwed on tightly then you will able to finish it up). The thin felt tip applicator allows super precise application and you can go as thin or as thick as you want with this liner and create the perfect wing with ease. Getting used to the pokiness of the thin tip can take a couple of uses though, but the formula in itself glides beautifully on the lids without being draggy.
The formula of this liner is super matte and one of the blackest I have ever used. It is a true matte that reflects hardly any light, as you can see in the comparison swatches above. Funnily enough, my extremely affordable Lakme Insta Eye Liner (worth INR 90) is the one that comes closest to this liner’s formula in terms of being matte, but the Lakme one is not smudge-proof. The Sugar I Warned You So, on the other hand, is completely smudge-proof and does not budge even if you rub it hard. However, it is not waterproof and is only partially water-resistant (bleeds for some time after contact with water), so I will not recommend wearing it to a pool party.
Overall, I love the formula because it is really matte, black, and long-lasting. The price point of INR 699 is a little steep though, and is the only con of this product in my opinion. However, if you are someone who can just not be satisfied with a demi-matte, demi-black eyeliner then I will highly recommend this one to you. It is called Double Matte for a reason and lives up to its name completely. Do pick this product up if you want to invest in an excellent, long-lasting, matte black eyeliner.
