Nivea MicellAir Skin Breathe Cleansing Water | Review

Micellar waters have made it big in India and how! While a few months back we all rejoiced the launch of BioDerma in India, we now have a ton of options from drugstore brands readily available online and in stores too. The latest brand to jump on the micellar water bandwagon is Nivea, a brand that is known and trusted by most Indian households for creating gentle and nourishing skincare. Nivea has launched two variants of micellar water in India, a rose water one and an O2 variant. I have tested out the blue O2 variant and here is what I think about this new micellar water on the block.

The Nivea Micellar Water comes in a sturdy plastic packaging with a convenient flip lid. The product looks exactly like water and claims to remove dirt and makeup from the face, lips and eyes in a gentle manner. It also claims to refresh and hydrate the skin and does not contain any perfume. As far as being gentle is concerned, the Nivea Micellar Water lives up to its expectations, it is very gentle on the skin and does not irritate the eyes or lips in the least. It literally feels like cleaning the face with water. The product does not leave any residue on the skin, but I will still recommend using a face wash after using this product to ensure that your skin is squeaky clean.

When it comes to the efficacy of this product at removing makeup, it works fairly well with non-waterproof makeup, be it eyeliner or foundation. However, with matte, waterproof lipsticks and waterproof eyeliners, you will need a fair amount of rubbing to get rid of all the makeup, which is not good for the skin. It is definitely not comparable to BioDerma or even the Garnier Micellar Water when it comes to removing waterproof makeup. Therefore, this micellar water is a nice gentle option for those who do not wear a lot of waterproof makeup.

Priced at INR 350 for a 400ml bottle, the Nivea MicellAir Cleansing Water is an affordable and effective option for those with extremely sensitive skin who do not wear much of waterproof makeup. It gets rid of dirt, grease, and non-waterproof makeup really well but fails to impress with waterproof makeup. I am personally enjoying it as the first cleanser in a double cleansing routine, and will recommend it to those who wear lightweight makeup.
