Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner, and Scalp Refresher | Review

“Oily Scalp and Dry Ends” – this phrase describes my hair perfectly, therefore when I found a product with this phrase printed on the bottle, I simply couldn’t not try it. I am talking about the Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Range that is specially designed to keep the ends hydrated and the scalp non-greasy. Can something that promises to be so good actually exist? Read on to find out.

Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner and Scalp Refresher | Review

This range contains a shampoo, a conditioner, and a scalp refresher. The Purifying and Hydrating shampoo does leave the scalp very fresh and clean with its menthol scent and clay particles that suck up all the grime. Unfortunately, I do not find it particularly hydrating and my hair does not feel more moisturized than usual after using this shampoo. However, if you want extra volume at your crown and want to revive your limp hair then this shampoo will do the trick for you.

The Purifying and Hydrating Conditioner helped with detangling and smoothening my hair but did not make much of a difference to my dry ends. My ends usually get very tangled and dry a day or two after washing. Post using this conditioner, the ends did feel less tangled but they were as dry as they normally are. Overall, I was expecting more from this conditioner – I wanted it to be light but extremely nourishing so that I could concentrate it on my ends without over-greasing my scalp, but this conditioner did not stand out in this department.

The last and the most unique product from the range is the Express Scalp Refresher, a minty liquid that is supposed to refresh the scalp and absorb any excess grease a day or two post shampooing the hair. Unfortunately, this product was a complete dud for me and pretty underwhelming. It is basically a very cooling and light-weight liquid that may provide some relief to those with an itchy or irritated scalp, but it does not absorb any grease at all. While this product could have been an excellent alternative to a dry shampoo, in reality, it does not live up to its claims.

Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner and Scalp Refresher | Review

To sum it up, the range ended up disappointing me quite a lot. It could have been an answer to all my problems because it aimed to target my exact hair type, but fell short of actually providing the desired results. Hopefully, the brand will put some work into improving the formula of the products because the concept is pretty novel and useful. As for now, I will probably repurchase the shampoo because it does provide decent volume to my hair but the conditioner and the scalp refresher are definitely not making it back to my shopping cart.
