Dr. Sheth’s Basic Brightening Extra Gentle Daily Peel | Review

The moment I first heard about Dr. Sheth’s skincare range, I was absolutely thrilled and excited to try it. It is basically a luxury skincare range formulated specifically for Indian skin, keeping the sensitivity and characteristics of Indian skin and the Indian weather conditions in mind. These products have been created by the famous dermatologist, Dr. Rekha Sheth, and her team, and are some of the rare few Indian skincare products that contain the skin-friendly vitamins and acids in substantial quantities. After reading and re-reading about all the products, I finally purchased the Dr. Sheth’s Basic Brightening Extra Gentle Daily Peel, a one of a kind product as far as Indian skincare brands are concerned, and I am so happy with my choice!

Dr. Sheth's Basic Brightening Extra Gentle Daily Peel | Review

This product is an exfoliating and brightening chemical peel which is quite mild and is excellent for those who are trying out a peel for the first time. It contains powerful exfoliating agents such as glycolic acid and lactic acid but still manages to remain mild and soothing, thanks to the calendula extracts and hydrating wheat sugars that it contains. On top of it all, it also contains pomegranate extracts which impart brightening properties to the peel. The formula is in the form of a white lotion with a herbal scent that sinks into the skin very easily and causes a slight tingling sensation upon application. Bear in mind that since it is an exfoliating peel, you must perform a patch test on your elbow before applying it to your face and the brand recommends to use this peel twice a week for three weeks, thrice a week for two weeks and daily after that so that your skin gets time to get used to the ingredients. Also, chemical peels can leave your skin more photo-sensitive than usual, so you MUST apply a sunscreen even if you are not planning to step out of the house, once you incorporate this product in your skincare routine.

Dr. Sheth's Basic Brightening Extra Gentle Daily Peel | Review

I have been using this product for about a month now and am currently using it every other day as a part of my PM skincare routine. On the days that I use this product, I use a gentle face wash and replace my Vitamin C Toner from Tvakh with a mild rose water based toner. Post cleansing and toning, I apply one pump of the product to my face and neck, avoiding my under eye area and any active acne or cuts. Over the past one month, I have noticed that my blemishes have softened in appearance and my skin looks much brighter and youthful than usual. Of course, it is a combined effect of all the products that I have been using but I am certain that this peel has made a lot of difference to my skin because my dead skin has been peeling off faster and my old acne scars have lightened ever since I began using this product. The first time I used the peel, it broke me out slightly, but this could have been a co-incidental hormonal breakout that appeared at the same time because upon further usage I did not suffer from any more breakouts. The peel does tingle on application and might sting those with sensitive skin but should suit those with normal to oily skin really well. Overall, this was a great way for me to include chemical exfoliation in my skincare which I had previously been afraid of, because it is much milder than other alternatives from international brands. It can also be used as a spot treatment for 5 minutes but I haven’t ever used it like that.

Dr. Sheth's Basic Brightening Extra Gentle Daily Peel | Review

This product is priced at INR 850 for a 50ml apothecary style travel-friendly bottle which has an extremely handy pump as well. This is extremely affordable compared to purchasing international products with similar ingredients which will set you back by INR 1500-2500 due to their hefty price, shipping charges, and duties. However, I do wish that the brand works on reducing their shipping charges because I had to pay INR 200 for shipping, which is quite expensive in my opinion. Other than this, I do not have anything negative to say about the product or the brand and I am super pumped to try out some of their other products, including their Basic Brightening Vitamin Glotion, Daily Sunscreen, and Daily Cleanser, and am desperately hoping that they bring out some eye creams soon. Will keep you posted once I get my hands on these!

I hope that this review was helpful, you can buy Dr. Sheth’s products from their website by clicking on this link.

Medicos – V Aqua Blue Water Bank Essential Mask | Review

In the cold weather, my skin literally becomes thirsty for moisture. I can feel the dryness and stretchiness if I do not pamper my face a little bit extra with hydrating creams and face masks. I recently received the Medicos-V Aqua Blue Water Bank Essential Mask from Skin18.com as a part of their blogger collaboration program and this provided a much-needed drink of moisture to my skin.

Medicos - V Aqua Blue Water Bank Essential Mask | Review

This cellulose mask is a sheet mask that fits really well on the face and provides some much needed hydration to the skin. One of the primary ingredients of the serum that the mask is drenched in is Hyaluronic Acid, which is famous for providing suppleness and hydration to the skin, making it plump and more youthful. It also contains Adenosine that helps with firming the skin and preventing wrinkles.

Medicos - V Aqua Blue Water Bank Essential Mask | Review

The mask is extremely cooling on the skin and provides immediate relief to dehydrated or irritated skin. I left it on my face for around 15 minutes and it felt like I had immersed my face in a pool of soothing water. Upon removing the mask, quite a lot of the serum was left behind on my face which I massaged into my skin. My face looked visibly rejuvenated, and my skin felt baby soft and plump, something that is hard for me to achieve in winter.

Medicos - V Aqua Blue Water Bank Essential Mask | Review

This sheet mask is priced at $2.50 but is currently available at $1.80 on skin18.com. If sheet masks are your thing then this sheet mask is a must-have for the colder months for you. Do give it a shot and I promise you that your skin will stay healthy and bouncy all through the chilly season.

Nua Sanitary Pads Subscription Box | Review

Subscription boxes are all the rage these days and while some of them offer you luxury goods that you will never buy for yourself in the form of a goodie box, others are way more utilitarian and perfect for the busy woman. What could be more practical and useful for a woman than a box of menstrual hygiene supplies delivered to her doorstep every month? Every woman will agree that thanks to our fast-paced lives, we often forget about that time of the month being around the corner and are caught unprepared without any supplies at home. The Nua sanitary pads subscription box is something that can help you avoid such emergency situations altogether. I recently received a box from Nua as a giveaway price and here are my thoughts on it.

Nua Sanitary Pads Subscription Box | Review

The box contains pads for heavy, medium, and light flow respectively and you can customize your box according to your needs. A box of 15 pads is priced at INR 249 for a month and the price goes down further if you choose to pick 2 or 3 packs at once. You can also choose the frequency of the delivery of the boxes as once every month, once every two months, or once every three months. Basically, you can customize this subscription entirely as per your requirements to be never caught unprepared for your period ever again. The details of all these customizations are better explained on the Nua website, so do check it out for more info.

Nua Sanitary Pads Subscription Box | Review

Coming to the quality of the pads, they are thin, comfortable to wear and slightly scented to keep any odor at bay. Despite being thin, they absorb really well and are quite long wearing. They have well-positioned wings that keep them in place all day long and they do not cause any rash or irritation even if you keep them on for more than a few hours. The pads for heavy flow can really soak up a lot and even the pads for medium flow are good enough to be comparable to the overnight pads from other brands. I also love the discreet packaging of the pads – each of them comes in an individual envelope that is quite different from anything I have ever seen in India, which makes it slightly less obvious that you are carrying around a pad.

Nua Sanitary Pads Subscription Box | Review

Overall, I have nothing negative to say about this subscription service. It may cost you a little more than your standard pads but completely eliminates the hassle of keeping track of your period and heading out to buy pads every month. So if you are someone who is super busy and hates running this monthly errand then I highly recommend that you give this subscription service a shot!

Travel In Style With Urby Passport Holders | Review

So recently Urby kindly sent me a gorgeous passport holder from their range and it was everything I could ask for from a passport holder! I do not like the boring black and blue colours for wallets and passport holders, which is why the golden beige shade of this passport holder was perfect for me. Also, my name embossed in beautiful gold lettering further adds a personal touch to something that already fits my style so well.

Urby Passport Holders | Review

The passport holder is made of extremely sturdy, high-quality material and even the stitching is absolutely perfect, something that helps to tell a high-end product apart from a lower end one. Even the packaging of the product had a high-end vibe to it. I will definitely be re-using the black box and the cloth pouch that the passport holder came in.

Urby Passport Holders | Review

The passport holder obviously has a pocket for the passport but also comes with pockets to hold your cards, change etc. This pleases the multi-functional product lover in me and I am sure that the extra pockets will come in very handy while traveling.

Urby Passport Holders | Review

Overall, I am very pleased with the passport holder and do not have anything to complain about at all. A passport holder is something that every frequent traveler needs to keep their documents in place while flying around the world and Urby allows you to do so with an edge. I recommend all of you to check out their website for their collection of passport holders because the range of styles is so vast that there is something to cater to everybody’s taste.

I would like to thank Urby for sending me this lovely product and for completing my travel gear while keeping it uber chic!

Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner, and Scalp Refresher | Review

“Oily Scalp and Dry Ends” – this phrase describes my hair perfectly, therefore when I found a product with this phrase printed on the bottle, I simply couldn’t not try it. I am talking about the Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Range that is specially designed to keep the ends hydrated and the scalp non-greasy. Can something that promises to be so good actually exist? Read on to find out.

Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner and Scalp Refresher | Review

This range contains a shampoo, a conditioner, and a scalp refresher. The Purifying and Hydrating shampoo does leave the scalp very fresh and clean with its menthol scent and clay particles that suck up all the grime. Unfortunately, I do not find it particularly hydrating and my hair does not feel more moisturized than usual after using this shampoo. However, if you want extra volume at your crown and want to revive your limp hair then this shampoo will do the trick for you.

Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner and Scalp Refresher | Review

The Purifying and Hydrating Conditioner helped with detangling and smoothening my hair but did not make much of a difference to my dry ends. My ends usually get very tangled and dry a day or two after washing. Post using this conditioner, the ends did feel less tangled but they were as dry as they normally are. Overall, I was expecting more from this conditioner – I wanted it to be light but extremely nourishing so that I could concentrate it on my ends without over-greasing my scalp, but this conditioner did not stand out in this department.

Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner and Scalp Refresher | Review

The last and the most unique product from the range is the Express Scalp Refresher, a minty liquid that is supposed to refresh the scalp and absorb any excess grease a day or two post shampooing the hair. Unfortunately, this product was a complete dud for me and pretty underwhelming. It is basically a very cooling and light-weight liquid that may provide some relief to those with an itchy or irritated scalp, but it does not absorb any grease at all. While this product could have been an excellent alternative to a dry shampoo, in reality, it does not live up to its claims.

Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay Shampoo, Conditioner and Scalp Refresher | Review

To sum it up, the range ended up disappointing me quite a lot. It could have been an answer to all my problems because it aimed to target my exact hair type, but fell short of actually providing the desired results. Hopefully, the brand will put some work into improving the formula of the products because the concept is pretty novel and useful. As for now, I will probably repurchase the shampoo because it does provide decent volume to my hair but the conditioner and the scalp refresher are definitely not making it back to my shopping cart.

I hope that this review was helpful. You can buy the Loreal Paris Extraordinary Clay products here.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream | Review and Swatches

The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream is something that I have been using for a long time, especially whenever I suffer from red and painful hormonal breakouts. When you have active acne on your face, you may not want to step out of the house with the redness showing but you would also not want to clog your pores with heavy makeup that will only make the situation worse. This BB cream is the perfect solution to the dilemma because it provides medium coverage while being light-weight and helps in shrinking the pimples because of the tea tree oil it contains.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream | Review and Swatches

I wear the shade 2 from the range which is the second darkest of the 3 shades available in India. This shade suits medium Indian skin tones pretty well and provides a decent coverage that will hide any redness or discoloration on the face. It has an almost matte finish on the skin and provides a smooth appearance to the face without settling in the creases or pores. I love the fact that the tea tree oil instantly cools the skin post-application, which is exactly what my skin needs when it’s suffering from an angry breakout.  Its longevity is also decent and the cream lasts on my face for a good 6-8 hours with a setting powder on top.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Flawless BB Cream | Review and Swatches

Overall, I feel that this BB cream is an excellent alternative to a foundation for those who have acne prone skin and what a natural look with some coverage. Priced at INR 1095 for a travel-friendly tube that contains 40ml of the product, this BB cream is a little pricey but is honestly the only makeup product that I feel comfortable using when I have acne on my face. Do give it a shot if you want some coverage for your breakouts but want them to heal at the same time.

I hope that this review was helpful. You can buy the BB Cream here.

Greenberry Organics Bio Active Intense Night Cream | First Impressions Style Review

In continuation to yesterday’s post, today I will talk about the Greenberry Organics Bio Active Intense Night Cream, the evening counterpart of the Bio Active Bright Day Cream. This night cream was also sent by the brand to me and I found the ingredient list very intriguing. It has Jojoba Oil to soothe dry and irritated skin, mulberry extracts that act as anti-oxidants, almond oil to help clear the skin, and organic murumuru butter that is rich in essential fatty acids. Needless to say, this cream sounds like a super-food for the skin and indeed, it is exactly that.

Greenberry Organics Bio Active Intense Night Cream | First Impressions Style Review

This night cream is even thicker and richer than the day cream from the range and has an extremely soothing floral scent that helps me fall asleep at night. You need to use the tiniest bit of the product on the face, otherwise, you will be left with a crumbly or streaky finish. Just take a small amount of product, rub it between your fingers to warm it up, and then dot over the face and massage in with a circular motion. This cream is almost like a body butter, but for the face, so you have to be careful not to use too much product, but personally, I love the rich and intense hydration that it provides to my face. With the smallest scoop of product, I am able to see the cream sink into my face within minutes, making the skin super soft and smooth. Even when I wake up in the morning, my skin looks radiant and healthy. On the days when I get inadequate sleep, I usually suffer from dull skin but this night cream prevents that as well. I also feel that just within a week of use, the cream has slightly lightened the spots on my face, which is quite amazing.

Greenberry Organics Bio Active Intense Night Cream | First Impressions Style Review

Overall, I am happy with the product because it lives up to its name of being “Intense” in the hydration department. Even though I have combination to oily skin, my face does not feel greasy after applying this product, making it the perfect winter night cream for me. I also love the fact that the product is so gentle on my face and does not cause any tingling or itching at all. I will highly recommend this product for those with flaky or irritated skin who are in immediate need of hardcore moisturization. Priced at INR 675 for a 50gm tub, this cream may seem expensive but it will last you a really long time if you use the right amount of product. Also, it is currently available on Amazon for INR 600 only, so do grab yours now to pamper your face with some TLC.

Greenberry Organics Bio Active Bright Day Cream | First Impressions Style Review

I have been trying to pay more attention to my skincare over the past few months, which now involves using photo-sensitive ingredients on my skin. This is why I am literally slathering sunscreen on my face every single morning, and for those super hectic days when you don’t even have time to brush your hair, I reach for day creams that contain SPF to kill two birds with one stone. With the nip in the air making my skin flaky and dry, I need something rich, hydrating, yet non-greasy, and the Greenberry Organics Bio Active Bright Day Cream offers me exactly this and much more!

Greenberry Organics Bio Active Bright Day Cream | First Impressions Style Review

I have been eyeing both the day cream and the night cream from Greenberry Organics since the time they were launched by the brand but was waiting to finish up the creams I had with me already before adding these to my cart. Somehow the stars aligned themselves and as soon as I was about to finish my current day cream, Greenberry Organics kindly sent me across these products! I have been using this day cream for about a week now so this will be a first impressions style review because I wanted to speak about the product before winter reached its peak. So here are my thoughts on this lovely day cream.

Greenberry Organics Bio Active Bright Day Cream | First Impressions Style Review

This cream comes in a sturdy jar with a leakproof insert inside the screw on lid which makes the product travel-friendly. The formula has a thick, creamy consistency, quite similar to that of a cold cream, but sinks into the skin really well and does not leave the face greasy at all. Bear in mind that this is a very rich cream, so you do not want to go in with a large dollop of product – a little goes a long way and too much cream may look streaky and white on the face. Just dip your finger into the tub and dot that much cream all over your face and gently massage it in to get supple and soft skin that looks radiant. The cream contains saffron extracts that always help to add a glow and brightness to my face and it also contains aloe vera and olive oil that provide the right amount of nourishment without clogging the pores. I feel that this cream is one of the most nourishing day creams that I have ever used without being too heavy on my skin, something that will work well for all skin types but particularly for dry to normal skin. The presence of SPF 25+ is the cherry on top of the cake because even if I don’t have the time to layer on my products, I can step out of the house without worrying about sun damage.

Greenberry Organics Bio Active Bright Day Cream | First Impressions Style Review

Overall, I do not see any cons of purchasing this product other than the fact that some people may find the tub packaging unhygienic. However, I don’t see how such a thick product could be packaged if not in a tub – just keep your hands clean while touching your face and you will be fine. I love the pleasant fragrance of the cream and its comforting texture that takes me back to my childhood days of using a cold cream throughout the colder months. Fortunately, this product is not as greasy as the cold creams from back in the day and is also all-natural and free of parabens and mineral oil. Just like the other skincare products from the brand, this day cream has managed to fully impress me. The cream is priced at INR 575 for a 50gm tub but is currently available at INR 500 on Amazon. Grab it now if you are someone who is lazy with their skincare and suffers from parched skin during the winter months.

The 5 Best And 5 Worst Of Tarte Cosmetics

Guest Post by Emily

Hi, guys! How are you doing today? I am so happy to be able to write for Lipstick For Lunch! I’ve been a fan of this blog and Mrinalini for a while now so it’s a pleasure to be writing this. Thank you Mrinalini!

Tarte Cosmetics is a makeup and skincare brand that has been around since 2000. Tarte is best known for being free of the not so great stuff like (but not limited to) parabens, mineral oil, phthalates fragrances, and gluten. They are also cruelty-free and offer many vegan products.  It is one of my favorite brands but they certainly have hits and misses. I’d also like to mention that Tarte has AMAZING gift/value sets! Almost all of these items are available in some sort of a mini for a smaller cost, a value set with minis to try, or an amazing gift set for the holidays.

5 Best Products:

image source: http://tartecosmetics.com/en_US/skincare/drink-of-h2o-hydrating-boost-moisturizer/777.html?cgid=skincare&dwvar_777_color=multi

WHAT IT IS
“A daily, vegan gel moisturizer that soothes & refreshes parched skin with electrolyte-packed hydration.”

WHAT IT DOES
“Gives a healthy glow from H2O. This cooling gel features a thirst-quenching cocktail of hyaluronic acid & electrolyte-balancing sea salts that hydrates skin without weighing it down. As the non-greasy formula quickly absorbs, it infuses skin with marine antioxidants from our Rainforest of the Sea™ complex, fighting free radicals & plumping the appearance of fine lines for a bouncy, ageless look.”

This stuff is so good! It will instantly make such an improvement to dry skin. Almost everyone’s skin changes from season to season due to the weather changes. My skin always gets dry in winter and this stuff just magically transforms it into smooth, supple skin.

WHAT IT IS
“Long-wearing color & moisture-rich full coverage lipstick in 24 creamy shades.”

WHAT IT DOES
“Discover long-wearing lip color powered by H2O with this full coverage hydrating lipstick. The ultra-creamy vegan formula combines intense pigments & buttery-smooth conditioners for comfort-swipe color that locks in place with no feathering or bleeding. Make water work for you through each sea-inspired shade infused with regenerative lip-quenchers & the antioxidant Rainforest of the Sea™ complex to help smooth the look of lip lines.”

All of these are amazing and they are formulated in the best way. They will add a ton of hydration to your lips and will smoothen lip lines. They aren’t transfer-proof or the most long-wearing lipsticks but are some of the most full coverage and hydrating ones. My favorite is Set Sail, which I consider my ‘perfect nude’.

WHAT IT IS
“A cult classic for over a decade, this best-selling vegan mascara lengthens, curls, volumizes & conditions, acting like a push-up bra for your lashes.”

WHAT IT DOES
“Curls & separates every lash with a 360° magniLASH wand for a naturally defined & voluminous look. The mascara’s blend of good-for-you ingredients like rice bran, olive esters & provitamin B5 soften & nourish lashes with each stroke.”

My holy grail mascara! This stuff is superb. This isn’t a claim but since using this product exclusively, I feel like my lashes have grown and become so much softer. This just gives such a nice appearance to the lashes, it never transfers to the under eye area. If you haven’t tried this yet, please do! I don’t think you’ll regret it!

WHAT IT IS
“A best-selling, full-coverage, vegan, blendable concealer that instantly brightens, smooths & shapes skin.”

WHAT IT DOES
“Provides a flawless matte finish that won’t flake or crease, even if you have dry skin, fine lines, or pore problems – no setting powder necessary. Mango seed & shea butters naturally regenerate & illuminate all complexions, letting you play with light to lift your features.”

I think by now everyone has heard of this stuff. Yes, it is as amazing as everyone says it is. I think it is way too expensive but it’s so nice. Full coverage, doesn’t crease, and it is amazing for contouring and highlighting. It is a bit on the dry side of things and it’s a bit thick, but I love it.

WHAT IT IS
“An award-winning powder blush with long-wearing Amazonian clay, so pigment looks freshly applied all day.”

WHAT IT DOES
“Super soft, silky powder chock full of true-color mineral pigments lets you layer on your glow with no harsh lines or chalky build-up. Its micronized Amazonian clay helps control oil & infuse moisture for balanced skin & seamless blending. The magnetized pan lets you pop your favorite shade from its compact to create a custom palette.”

This might be the best blush ever. It lasts forever and is buildable – it just looks so natural. I think these are too expensive BUT Tarte has many blush value kits that have just launched and I think those are a steal! Pick one of those up and you won’t regret it.

WHAT IT IS
“A lightweight, 12-hour concealing serum offering buildable, medium coverage with skin-soothing benefits.”

WHAT IT DOES
“Mask imperfections while sealing in radiance & hydration with this buildable, medium coverage concealing serum. It features concentrated levels of pigments suspended in deep conditioning serum made up of 20 percent water to deliver the coverage you desire & the moisture your skin craves. The vegan friendly formula is powered by the proprietary Rainforest of the Sea™ complex that serves as the ultimate defense for skin, helping protect from daily aggressors & premature signs of aging. Apply it directly from the custom applicator wand to mask any redness, dark spots & acne or to brighten the undereye area.”

I’m just not a fan. I don’t think it offers great coverage and I didn’t see the skincare benefits.

WHAT IT DOES
“The versatile 2-in-1 lip crayon helps you create vibrant tarteist™ looks no matter your skill level thanks to its creamy, easy-glide formula that deposits rich, hydrating pigment in just one simple stroke.”

I received this in a subscription box and was so excited! I tried it the next day and the tip broke off, not once but twice. When I got it on it was so dry and definitely not creamy.

image source: http://tartecosmetics.com/en_US/makeup/smooth-operator-amazonian-clay-finishing-powder/201.html?cgid=makeup&dwvar_201_color=white

WHAT IT IS
“A translucent, silky finishing powder with Amazonian clay that keeps makeup in place & diffuses imperfections.”

WHAT IT DOES
“This microfine loose, invisible clay powder blends effortlessly into any skin tone to set your foundation to a breathable matte finish without chalky residue or flashback. The secret’s in the clay – it naturally balances all skin types to absorb oil, minimize the appearance of pores & make your makeup last without flaking or clinging to dry patches. You can also use the oil free formula as an undereye baking or treatment powder – Amazonian clay will absorb shine to reveal a smooth, soft-focus finish.”

OH THE BACKFLASH. I made the mistake of baking and I just looked so white. I also tried it under camera flash and it was just like “hello! I am powder! hear me roar!”. Avoid this if you’d prefer to stay not white, your skin tone.

WHAT IT IS
“Weightless, talc-free makeup setting & baking powder with tiny, light-reflecting particles that blur out pores & lines.”

WHAT IT DOES
“This silky, vegan powder sets & protects without flaking, creasing or caking. The loose, vanilla-tinted formula blends invisibly to absorb shine & set your makeup to a matte finish. It also has magic micronized filtered particles that diffuse light to give you healthy, more luminous dimension, making it the perfect setting powder to prevent flashback in photos.

It’s hypoallergenic & infused with antioxidant algae & marine ingredients to protect & balance skin while it blurs imperfections. You can also use this multi-tasker to bake your concealer, brighten up dark circles or filter out pores & fine lines.”

Like smooth operator™, this just makes you look so white. Not even brighter, just white.

What it is:
“This state-of-the-art BB cream offers numerous benefits for smooth, youthful-looking skin
Features SPF 30 sun protection
Comes in five shades

Indulge your skin with this powerful multitasker that works as a primer, moisturizer, light foundation, antiaging treatment, and sunscreen to give you a youthful-looking glow. Worn alone or as the perfect base for makeup, this 12-hour, age-defying, oil-free primer offers light-to-medium, buildable coverage that helps even skin tone and other skin imperfections while diffusing light to minimize the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and pores. The creamy, silky formula goes on smooth and blends easily, leaving you with a natural-looking, flawless finish with a broad-spectrum, chemical-free SPF 30 that offers ideal protection from the sun’s harmful UVA/UVB rays.”

Firstly, I still don’t know what this guy wants to do. He wants to prime, moisturize, treat AND give you sunscreen. Some people may think that is great, and I did too. I was into the idea of it but I put on the shade ‘light’ and became oranger than an umpa lumpa. Needless to say, I’m not a fan.

Glamisha Skin Lightening Cream | Review

Hello people! As we slowly drag ourselves away from Monday and towards the weekend (lol, yes, I start dreaming about the weekend from Tuesday itself!), let us talk about some more skincare from Glamisha. I spoke about their lovely face wash yesterday but they also sent me their Skin Lightening Cream with Kojic Acid Depalmitate and Arbutin. Although I am always on the fence about “lightening creams”, I do like to try them out, not to make my skin lighter, but to get rid of the pigmentation on my face left behind by acne. So here is what I thought about the Glamisha Skin Lightening Cream.

Glamisha Skin Lightening Cream | Review

This cream has a very unique texture and is quite different from anything I have used before. It is quite thick and does not get absorbed into the skin immediately upon application, even after massaging for a few minutes, the white streaks stay pretty visible, but after around 3-4 minutes, it automatically sinks into the skin and the whiteness disappears. Once fully absorbed by the skin, it feels quite light and comfortable on the skin and it also seems to have mattifying properties. Whenever I apply this cream, my face stays oil-free for much longer than usual, so this product can be very handy for those with oily skin.

The cream has also made a slight difference to my blemishes already and my skin feels brighter overall every time I use the product. I will probably do an update in a month or two regarding the long-term effects of the cream because blemishes never disappear within a few weeks and take a fair amount of time to fade no matter how effective the cream is. However, I am fairly certain that with continued usage, this cream will definitely help with my pigmentation because it contains Kojic Acid and Arbutin, both of which are known as skin brightening agents.

Glamisha Skin Lightening Cream | Review

This cream is priced at INR 975 for a 100gm tube, which is a little steep, but since Glamisha is a luxury skincare brand, the price tag is expected. I will say that this product is worth the price for those with oily skin because it has excellent mattifying properties without being drying on the skin. I like that the cream is light-weight and gentle and does not cause any irritation on the skin. Brightening creams that are non-greasy are something quite rare and this is one of the few products that fit the bill. So if you want your skin to glow, not shine, then do try out this product, but remember to wait for a few minutes post application to let the product be soaked in by the skin.

Glamisha Face Wash With Mulberry And Licorice Extracts | Review

The lovely folks at Glamisha recently sent me a couple of their products to try, and today I will be talking about their Face Wash With Mulberry and Licorice Extracts. However, before I review this face wash, let me tell you a little bit about the brand in case you are not familiar with it. Glamisha is a new skincare and haircare brand in India that claims to use the extracts of natural ingredients for improving the look of your hair and skin and making them healthier. Price and qualitywise, Glamisha fits in the bracket of Indian luxury brands and is currently available online on shopping sites such as Amazon and Flipkart. So does the brand really live up to its claims? Let’s find out!

Glamisha Face Wash With Mulberry And Licorice Extracts | Review

This face wash comes in a white and orange tube with the classic Glamisha branding that is present on all the products from the brand. The tube is pretty sturdy and leakproof and dispenses the right amount of product for a wash with a single squeeze. The packaging is minimalistic and travel-friendly and although I usually prefer cuter packaging, this sophisticated tube works for me because the product it holds is so good! The face wash is a clear blue gel and although the color has nothing to do with the actual efficacy of the product, anything that is blue in color always makes me love it more 🙂 The formula lathers easily and upon massaging on the face, it feels extremely gentle. With a single wash, the product removes all the grease and dirt from the skin without causing any tingling or irritation, making it perfect for those with sensitive skin. The best thing about this product is that once you pat dry your face, you will notice that your skin has become incredibly soft and bouncy – it literally gives you baby skin after every wash.

The ingredient list has some noteworthy items such as glycerin, aloe vera, licorice extracts and mulberry extracts. While the first two help in hydrating the skin, the licorice and mulberry extracts are known to help with blemishes and pigmentation and are hailed as skin brightening agents. Bear in mind that the ingredients also include some sulphates but the face wash does not contain any parabens. Personally, I do not mind the presence of sulphates in a face wash because I am going to wash it off my face anyway.

Glamisha Face Wash With Mulberry And Licorice Extracts | Review

Overall, I am loving this face wash for the winter months because it leaves my face moisturised and my skin feels soft like a pillow after every wash. It is priced at INR 350 for a gigantic 100ml tube which I feel is reasonable given the efficacy of the product. If you suffer from dry and dull skin during the colder months then I highly recommend this face wash to achieve healthy skin that actually glows.
